Overall enjoyed the Exotic Morocco Tour with our amazing tour guide Abdul. He is very attentive, knowledgable and passionate in ensuring tour members have a great time and learn about the country and its wonderful culture. The tour covers a lot in 8 days, so long days driving in the bus are inevitable and the group sometimes felt a bit rushed through sites given the tight schedule. What I learnt is that apparently minivans or busses in Morocco don't have heating! So driving up to 12 hours in ice cold conditions over the snow covered Atlas mountains without any heating was a challenge! Therefore, I certainly don't recommend doing the tour in those cold winter months from December - January. Hotels were hit and miss sometimes and, although the tour was prominently advertised with 4 star hotels, some were definitely not reaching that standard (and that was group consensus!). The tour operator could apply more diligence in selecting hotels more carefully based on actual reviews / ratings. Some of the hotels were rated low with 6.1 to 7.6 on Booking.com, while there are plenty of other hotels in the same 4-star- category and at the same price point that have a much higher review rating on Booking.com (which is usually a very good indicator to go by). Rather than staying in non-descript hotels, I would definitely recommend that the tour operator selects to stay in riads in the old towns for a much more authentic and memorable experience.Show more

Abdel was a fantastic, authentic and attentive guide with lots of energy and patience who really looked after us and organised the tour very well, timings, meet up with local guides, quick check-ins were very smooth and he responded quickly to any requests. Our Tour May 25 was a fantastic experience with 24 in our friendly party of mixed ages but mainly older. This tour involves long journeys by air conditioned coach/minibus but Abdel made sure we had enough toilet/picture stops every 1.5 hours as there is no toilet on the coach in Morocco. I saw some amazing sights. souks and Kasbahs and experiences, Chefchaouen blue city was fabulous, Todra Gorges, driving through Atlas Mountains, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, and Mezouga desert camp, the dinner show with belly dancing and magician at Fez. I leaned a lot about Berber culture and nomadic lifestyle and music. I cannot recommend this tour enough but with a few tweaks would be even better. The accommodation experience was mixed but the rooms were large and the family hotel in Dades valley was a lovely location and experience. The Mezouga desert camp with included sunset camel ride and 4 x 4 jeep was a once in a lifetime experience. The tents were very basic without air conditioning it was so hot in the tent trying to sleep on our free afternoon (I had to have 2 cold showers to cool down) - maybe a 1 star but it is in the Sahara desert and the food and the toilet/shower facilities were adequate, but I would have liked the option to upgrade to better accommodation.Show more

  Regarding accommodation, the itinerary does include a desert experience — there will be 2 nights in a desert camp in a tent on Days 9 and 10, so she will definitely enjoy that under-the-stars experience.
