Bangkok
Your flight to Bangkok departs today. This is when your Southern Thailand adventure starts, so you'll want to get to the airport with plenty of time before departure.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After landing, your tour guide meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. You've got the rest of the day to wander around Bangkok on your own and get familiar with the city. Then at 5 pm, head down to the hotel lobby to meet your group and guide, who'll go over what's coming up on your Southern Thailand itinerary.

Landmarks Chao Praya River - Day 3
Bangkok
Today you're exploring Bangkok using public transport and traditional methods. You'll walk to the Chao Praya River, hop on an express boat heading to Wat Po to see the giant reclining Buddha, then ferry over to Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn). From there, check out the vibrant flower and produce market, take a tuk-tuk to Wat Saket perched at Bangkok's highest point. Plan for about 4 hours of walking throughout the day.

Bangkok to Khao Yai National Park
You're heading out to Khao Yai National Park, about 2.5 hours from Bangkok. Once you arrive, get settled into your tent accommodation at the park's edge. In the afternoon, you'll explore the bat cave and stick around to watch thousands of bats pour out at dusk, which is quite a sight.

- Day 5
Khao Yai National Park
This is a full day in Khao Yai. You'll drive deep into the park for roughly two hours with stops for explanations and photos, then do some jungle hiking where you might spot hornbills, gibbons, and macaques. After a hearty lunch, you'll see the Haew Suwat waterfall, then head to an area where elephants often come to lick salty rocks. Following dinner, there's a night safari for wildlife viewing. You're looking at approximately 4 hours of driving and 3.5 hours of walking.

Khao Yai National Park to Surat Thani
Early in the morning after checking out at 9:30 am, you'll do another short hike hunting for jungle animals, ending at Heio-Narok waterfall. Back at camp, you can freshen up, then it's a 3.5 hour drive back to Bangkok. You'll have time to run errands and grab dinner before boarding the night train to Surat Thani. You'll travel in a 2nd class air-conditioned open-plan compartment, with about 3 hours of walking time for the day.

Surat Thani to Khao Sok National Park
The train arrives early morning in Surat Thani. A 2-hour drive gets you to Khao Sok National Park and the tree house resort. After breakfast there, you'll paddle a canoe for two hours through the natural landscape. Following lunch, an afternoon tour combines hiking, a BBQ, and a night safari with a ranger, plus a dip in a cool stream. Later, after dinner, a night hike with a guide helps you spot nocturnal wildlife, wrapping up around 9 p.m.

- Day 8
Cheow Lan Reservoir
You'll drive to Cheow Lan reservoir and board a longtail boat for a several-hour journey across the lake, passing through a limestone mountain forest. Lunch happens at a floating restaurant. Then you'll hike to a stalactite cave and take a refreshing swim in the reservoir before heading back to the resort in late afternoon. The day involves 2 to 3 hours of travel covering about 120 km.

- Day 9
Khao Sok National Park to Krabi
Check out from your hotel around 10 am and drive to Krabi, a coastal resort town about 160 km away. The drive takes roughly 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive, the rest of your day is yours to do whatever you'd like.

- Day 10
Krabi
Sleep in a bit and relax this morning. Around midday, head south to see natural pools where the water is crystal clear and tucked into the forest. A short hike gets you to Emerald Pool, where you can swim in the warm water. In the afternoon, climb 1,236 steps up to Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Temple), a monastery that sits high up and gives you great views over Krabi and everything around it. Later, grab authentic Thai dinner at a local restaurant where Thai locals actually eat.

Today is set aside for rest and relaxation at your Krabi resort. Take the time to recover and enjoy the setting at your own pace.
- Day 12
Krabi
Board a boat and spend the day exploring islands in the Andaman Sea. Start at Poda Island with its big stone cliffs and long beaches that work well for photos. Head to Tub and Mooh islands to snorkel in water that feels great. When the tide goes out, you can walk over to Chicken Island and check out the reef, which is loaded with coral. Then go to Pranang Cave Beach, which you can only reach by water. Eat lunch and have free time to explore before the boat brings you back to your hotel for a quiet evening.

Krabi to Phuket Airport
Your schedule depends on your return flight time. A transfer takes you to Phuket Airport for the flight back to Germany, about 2.5 hours away. If interested, you can arrange a follow-up program like The Village Coconut Island.
