- Day 1
Danube River Cruise Embarkation
You'll board the AmaWaterways river cruise ship and settle in for the Majestic Capitals of the Danube journey. This is where everything starts, so you'll want to get oriented with the ship, find your cabin, and maybe grab a bite from one of the onboard restaurants. By evening, the ship will push off and you'll start cruising along the Danube.

Vienna
Vienna's your destination today. A guided tour takes you through the historic center to see the Opera House, the former Imperial Palace, and St. Stephen's Cathedral. After that, you'll have time to wander through the Christmas Markets on your own. Later in the evening, head to the Rathaus Christmas Market to finish things off. If you'd rather skip the formal tour, you can rent a bike to explore Vienna instead or find a traditional Viennese café to relax in.

Start your morning at Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market, where you'll find artisanal handicrafts and get that festive feeling. From there, you'll board the ship for a scenic Danube River cruise. The ship then heads toward Bratislava, and later you'll have an exclusive evening event at the Primate's Palace to look forward to.

Then you'll take a tour that covers both the Buda and Pest sides separated by the Danube, with stops at the 19th-century Chain Bridge and Castle Hill (a UNESCO site with medieval monuments). Browse the Christmas Markets in the afternoon or evening. Alternatively, you can take the 'Hidden Budapest' tour or hike up to Castle Hill for panoramic city views.
