  For those looking for a less crowded trek, Meru is gold. Migration Venture Africa arranged everything perfectly permits, gear, and meals. Our guide Jackson was funny and patient, and the views over Arusha from the summit were unreal. The huts were clean, and the food was basic but nourishing. Hiking through lush forests and open ridges with colobus monkeys watching was a highlight. It felt more personal and serene than Kilimanjaro, with deep connections to nature.Show more

  I recently had the privilege of embarking on a 3-day climb of Mount Meru in Arusha, Tanzania, with Migration Venture Africa, and it was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, the entire experience was well-organized, professionally executed, and filled with breathtaking views, unforgettable moments, and the kind of adventure that leaves a lasting impression. Our journey began early in the morning with a warm welcome from the Migration Venture Africa team. The guide, porters, and crew were all extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. The trek started off with a scenic hike through lush forests, and as we gained elevation, the landscape transformed into something more magical. By the end of the day, we'd reached our first camp – Miriakamba Hut. The evening was spent enjoying the stunning views, a hearty meal, and great conversation with fellow climbers. Day two was a challenging yet rewarding stretch. The trail took us higher up the mountain, and we started to feel the altitude as we approached Saddle Hut. The trek was demanding, but our guide from Migration Venture Africa made sure we were well-prepared, taking breaks when needed and ensuring we stayed hydrated. Along the way, we were treated to incredible vistas of the surrounding wilderness and distant views of Mount Kilimanjaro. As we reached Saddle Hut, the sun set behind the jagged peaks, and the night sky was clear enough to see the stars in their full glory. The final day was an early start as we geared up for the summit push. The climb was challenging, with steep ascents and rocky terrain, but the satisfaction of reaching the top of Mount Meru – the Rhino Point at 3,800 meters – was worth every ounce of effort. The panoramic views from the summit were absolutely breathtaking, with the vast crater below and the surrounding mountain range creating a scene straight out of a postcard. Throughout the journey, Migration Venture Africa ensured that everything went smoothly. The guides were knowledgeable and professional, offering helpful advice on how to tackle the more difficult parts of the climb. The porters worked tirelessly, always with a smile on their face, and the meals were delicious and nutritious, fueling us for the climb ahead. The company’s commitment to safety and customer care was evident in every aspect of the trip. What I can truly say is, Climbing Mount Meru with Migration Venture Africa was a truly unforgettable experience. Their dedication to providing top-notch service, ensuring every detail was taken care of, and fostering a sense of camaraderie among climbers made this adventure stand out. Whether you're an experienced climber or a first-timer, this journey will leave you with lasting memories. I can’t recommend them enough – they absolutely deserve all the credit for making this trip as incredible as it was.
