Rio de Janeiro
You'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro mid-afternoon and head straight to your hotel to check in. Once you've settled into your room, take some time to rest up and get your bearings before exploring South America's most vibrant city.


- Day 2
Rio de Janeiro
Start the morning with a private tour heading to Cosme Velho district, where you'll board a cog-wheel train that winds through Tijuca Forest up to Corcovado Mountain. At the top, you'll see the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and take in 360-degree views of the city sprawling below and the beaches beyond. The rest of your afternoon and evening are free to do whatever you'd like.

You'll have the full day to yourself in Rio de Janeiro. Your Local Host can point you toward activities based on what interests you most. Historic Petropolis sits in the mountains and has the former summer palace of Emperor Dom Pedro II if you want to take a day trip, or you could head to Sugar Loaf Mountain instead. It really depends on what you're in the mood for and how much travel time you want to spend.

Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls
After flying to Iguassu Falls, your Local Guide leads a private tour from the Brazilian side where you'll see 275 separate waterfalls that span nearly two miles. The walk into Devil's Throat Canyon gets you close to the mist, sound, and rainbows. It's one of those experiences that's hard to capture just with photos.

- Day 5
Iguassu Falls (Argentine side)
You'll cross into Argentina today with your Local Guide for a private tour of the Argentine side of Iguassu Falls. The open-air Ecological Jungle Train takes you through the rainforest, then you'll walk the boardwalks positioned above the falls to see water dropping over 300 feet into Devil's Throat. After that you head back to Brazil with the rest of the afternoon and evening free to relax or explore on your own.

You'll fly to Buenos Aires and check into your central hotel. Once you've settled in, you can start exploring the city on your own. The wide boulevards and outdoor cafes give you a good sense of why people call this the Paris of South America, and there's plenty to see just by walking around the neighborhoods.

Buenos Aires
Your private city tour starts by heading down the widest avenue in the world to see Teatro Colon Opera House. From there you'll visit Avenida de Mayo, Plaza de Mayo with La Casa Rosada and the Cabildo, then stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Next comes San Telmo and the colorful La Boca neighborhood, followed by Palermo before ending at Recoleta Cemetery. This evening you can arrange dinner and catch a traditional tango show if that interests you.

This day is yours to use however you like in Buenos Aires. There's an optional excursion out to a traditional estancia (ranch) where you can experience gaucho lifestyle if you want something different, or you could take a cruise down the Tigre River where you'll see beautiful landscapes and impressive homes along the water. It's a good day to mix structured activities with just wandering the city.

Landmarks Tigre River - Day 9
Buenos Aires to Santiago
You'll take a scenic flight over the Andes to Santiago, Chile's capital. Once you arrive, your local guide will get you to your hotel. Chile runs over 2,650 miles along the Pacific coast and stretches much longer than it is wide, so the geography alone is pretty interesting.

Santiago
Your private tour traces Santiago's history going back to the 16th century. You'll visit La Moneda, the official Government Palace, then head to San Cristobal Hill to see the Virgin Mary statue overlooking the city. The tour finishes at Plaza de Armas where the 18th-century Cathedral anchors the historic square.
