Meals - breakfast and 2 times meals - what does this mean? Age range - 15 to 70. I am 74 years but physically and mentally very fit. In June 2024, I did a 18 days tour in Madagascar, where the road conditions are very challenging.

how many days are there where the driving exceed 5 hours per day, and for these days, how many actual driving hours for each of the days. for hiking, how many kilometers each hike, the altitude, and do I carry all my gear in my own backpack, and what about the other luggage. is bottled water provided daily by the hotels/guesthouses or by your company. do the hotels provide kettle in the room to make hot drinks, or it is possible to get hot water from the kitchen/bar. are there electrical charging points in Fairy Meadows and other small villages

    • ExploriaOperatorWritten July 2024

Trek to Fairy Meadows is 3 hours. Return Trek to Nanga Parbat Base camp 5-6 hours. Wear hiking shoes and a light bag for 2 days of trekking to Fairy Meadows. No such heavy gear needed. We provide water bottles every day which is complimentary during the tour. Bottles also provided in the hotels so no worries about it. Most of the hotels provide a kettle and hot water so it is also included. Fairy Meadows and all the other small villages have fully functional Wooden huts which have electricity and all the basic amenities available.

For Fairy Meadows, how many kilometers is the one way trek, and what is the altitude? For trekking to Nanga Parbat base camp, how many kilometers is the return trip, and what is the altitude?

    • ExploriaOperatorWritten July 2024

The trek begins at Tattu Village. The distance to Fairy Meadows is 6 km and typically takes about 3 hours at a relaxed pace. The altitude at Fairy Meadows is 3,200 meters. From Fairy Meadows, it's a 3 km hike to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (one way), making it a total of 6 km round trip. The altitude at the base camp is 3,800 meters.

      TravelerWritten July 2024

I checked the Australian government travel advice website and also my travel insurance policy. The attached map shows the Swat Valley and Kalash Valley area to be "Do Not Travel" by my government. This means my travel insurance will not cover me if I have any accident in the area designated by my government as "Do Not Travel". Chitral and the area to the east of Chitral is fine. Is there any way to fly to Chitral to start the tour from there?

    • ExploriaOperatorWritten July 2024

We take extra precautionary measures to ensure your safety. If in case we feel any safety-related issues in any destinations, we take action beforehand and make changes in the tour itinerary by changing the route. We can take out destinations not covered by your insurance. However, being an Australian you should visit areas like Chitral, Kalash which are the face of the mighty Hindu Kush range in Northern Pakistan.

    Asked on July 28th, 2023

On average, how much hiking do you do per day?

    Tour Details
    • ExploriaOperatorWritten July 2023

This is a 24 day long tour designed carefully to cover almost every place in northern Pakistan. Hikes depend on the valleys that you will be exploring on specific days. Not everyday is a hike day. However, we have places included like Fairy meadows, Chitral and Skardu where you will have to hike for 2-3 hours daily. If you are hiking person, then we can also include hikes on daily basis as per your request. If you are not into hiking, then we do have alternative options to do the tour via jeeps and horses.

Of all the dates you have going forward do you recommend one over another regarding temperature?

    • ExploriaOperatorWritten July 2023

Pakistan has 4 seasons and every season holds its own unique beauty. However, Summer and Autumn is the time where most of travellers prefer doing this tour.
