Itinerary
- Day 1
Anchorage to Seward
Drive south for about two hours to reach Seward, which serves as the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Once there, you'll board a boat for a six-hour narrated cruise through Resurrection Bay, the Gulf of Alaska, and Aialik Bay. During the cruise, keep an eye out for puffins, whales, sea lions, harbor seals, and eagles. You'll also watch glaciers calving as the boat moves through the park's waters.

- Day 2
Seward
Spend the full day exploring the land side of Kenai Fjords National Park with two trail options. The Exit Glacier Overlook Trail offers a moderate hike with great views of the glacier itself. If you want more challenge, the Harding Icefield Trail climbs over 3,000 feet through alders, cottonwood trees, and meadows to reach the park's icy crown. Pick whichever fits your energy level and experience.

Kenai River Canyon
Head out for a full day rafting the turquoise waters of Kenai River Canyon. The day starts with a scenic float where you'll search for moose, eagles, and salmon. Then you'll navigate Class II+ mild rapids before the water calms as you enter glacier-carved lake waters. There's a midway stop for a picnic lunch right at the water's edge.

Anchorage to Talkeetna
The morning is yours to do what you like in Anchorage. Check out the Anchorage Museum or walk the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, which passes through forested hills and coastal marshes where you might spot eagles and moose. Grab lunch downtown, and then it's time to head toward Talkeetna for a relaxing evening.

Talkeetna to Denali
Choose your morning activity: either hike the easy 4-mile circuit around Talkeetna Lake, which has wildlife and wildflowers throughout, or book a flightseeing trip over Denali to see the Alaska Range and glaciers from above (additional cost applies). In the afternoon, there's a short hike at Byers Lake before heading to Denali State Park where you'll set up your basecamp.

Denali National Park
You're heading into Denali National Park for a full-day backcountry adventure covering over 40 miles of rugged terrain. Watch for Denali's Big 5: bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and wolves. The day includes frequent stops for scenery and wildlife photography. Lunch happens during the exploration, and then you'll return to the hotel for the evening on your own.

Landmarks Denali National Park - Day 7
Denali National Park
Hike the Triple Lakes Trail in Denali National Park, which is the longest established trail and surprisingly secluded despite being minutes from civilization. The well-maintained trails pass through forests where you can search for beavers and moose. Evening wraps up with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant where you'll eat with your fellow travelers.

Denali to Anchorage
Your final morning explores Denali's front country. There's Horseshoe Lake for tranquility, Mt. Healy Overlook for views, or the Denali sled dog team if you prefer something different. After your morning exploration, grab lunch at the Denali Visitors Center. Then it's the drive back to Anchorage for your departure.
