  Everything was extremely well-organized. If I needed help with anything, someone was always there 24/7 via WhatsApp. I loved every minute of it. The guides were wonderful: fluent, extremely well-informed, and always helpful. I would do it all over again.

  This really wasn’t what I expected. I was expecting a small group tour with the same people there through the whole trip all staying at the same places. It was really misleading.

  Overall I really enjoyed the tour but have some thoughts about things that could have been better. I did not receive any briefing at the tour start which I had expected. I found out from other people later that they did have a briefing at the hotel in Istanbul. I realised that was when I would have needed to book a balloon ride in Cappadocia. I hadn’t made up my mind about that and might not have chosen to do it but I probably wouldn’t have been able to if I hadn’t booked at the beginning. I also had some questions about tipping etiquette. I did send a message about this but did not hear back. I think the briefing is important especially when the tour is not a fixed group of people travelling together as other tours are that I have done. I also experienced disruption on my second night in Kusadasai. It was the night before Eid and someone was completing renovations at 1.30 am. The noise was loud in my room which was on the first floor. I understand those on higher floors did not hear this and that there were plenty of available rooms higher up. There was drilling and hammering for at least half an hour. There was no one to call about this. I did tell the hotel staff next morning. My suggestion would be that hotel staff anticipate such a situation and not allocate rooms that might be impacted by noise in the night. It did disturb my night. Many of the guides were great especially Azer for Ephesus. Some seemed less experienced. At times the group size varied significantly too. Our driver from Pamukkale to Cappadocia was terrific and went out of his way to show the three of us different things and even arranged baklava for me! He’s a standout. It would also be good to know in advance that we might need to pay for excess baggage for the internal flights. It wasn’t much but I was surprised when I needed to do that as it appeared that I was in the limit. As an international traveller going to various countries I use the maximum baggage allowance. Either the internal tickets could reflect the international rates (23 kg checked plus 8 kg cabin luggage and one personal item), or you advise people they may need to pay a small excess. International excess fees can be much higher so it can be a worry for tourists not to know in advance. The drivers were all courteous and apart from one were always on time. The hotels were really good too apart from my experience above. I would have preferred more time in Istanbul and may have needed to select a different tour or add some days on to my trip for that. It is a fascinating city. I did have a great trip thanks.

  We had a wonderful time traveling in turkey with turkey escapades. Itinerary was customized to our liking and the transfers were seamless. Hotels were very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast that comes with it was scrumptious. Some even gave us an upgrade to bigger rooms, we were so grateful. The entire trip was well planned and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The guides provided were also very attentive and have good knowledge of the places. There were also visits to leather, jewelry and carpet factory which were interesting for us first timers. But if you do not wish to, you could just let the guides know your preference in advance.

  We had a great experience with a 9-day tour of Turkey, visiting Istanbul, Kusadasi, Pamukkale, Konya and Cappadocia, with Turkey Escapades in April 2023. Mehmet was very responsive in answering our questions prior to and during the trip (to confirm pickup times, hot air balloon rides, etc.) and we really appreciated his proactiveness in re-booking our hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia when the first booking was cancelled. One thing to note is that we did not travel with the same group of people throughout the tour; instead, it was just our family in the vehicle transfers to and from airports, and from Pamukkale to Cappadocia. And then at the actual sites (Ephesus, Hierapolis, Konya), we joined small groups of different tourists and were shown around by different tour guides. The tour guides at each site were friendly and efficient; the drivers were punctual and drove well. We appreciated the choice of hotels: the Erboy Hotel in Istanbul was in a great location; the MDC Cave Hotel in Cappadocia was unique and had the friendliest staff and very nice food. Unfortunately the staff -- especially the spa staff -- at the Pam Thermal Hotel in Pamukkale were rude and unhelpful; there were zero smiles and very poor service; however this was just a short part of the tour. Overall we would like to express our thanks to Mehmet and his team for a wonderful trip to Turkey!
