It is offered as an optional activity during the expedition, subject to availability and suitable weather and sea conditions. If you would like to take part, you can enquire about adding the Polar Plunge to your booking once your trip is confirmed. Please note that, as with all activities in Antarctica, the final opportunity to participate is dependent on the expedition team's assessment of the conditions at the time.

How accurate is the arrival time at the end of the trip, and how much extra time should one allow for the flight?

When arranging your transportation, such as flights, please take into consideration the below time restrictions for joining and departing from your group. With these times, we have taken into account travel time to/from the airport in the given destination and required time for check-in or baggage collection/immigration. Frau Eicher is looking for a largely barrier-free Antarctica trip

Unfortunately there is no elevator aboard and all decks of the ship are separated by fairly steep stairs. In order to embark the Zodiacs to go ashore, passengers need to be able to go up and down all of these stairs, get all of their waterproof gear and boots on and then there is a metal platform with stairs - they need to have the mobility to step onto the Zodiac and sit down. Then they need to be able to slide across the side of the Zodiac and step out onto the beach or landing site.

Our Antarctica tour includes 9 nights aboard the G Expedition with 1 night hotel in Ushuaia. Includes Zodiac excursions, expert lectures, waterproof boots, and expedition parka. Accommodation is twin-share hotel and ship cabins with en suite bathrooms. Meals include 10 breakfasts, 8 lunches, 9 dinners. Transportation by G Expedition, Zodiac, private bus, and walking.

Since this trip was organized with so much intelligence and care to every detail, the enormousness of what the trip to this remote area actually implies is completely forgotten by the careless traveler. As a musician I know that, the easier it appears, the more work is behind it to make it appear so.
