This tour was excellent from start to finish. We took the overnight sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor, and our driver Islam made sure we were comfortably boarded and settled into our cabin. The next morning, our guide Marian promptly met us at Luxor station and had the entire day perfectly organized. We started at the Valley of the Kings, where Marian shared detailed and engaging historical context as we visited the tombs. On her recommendation, we opted for the Seti I tomb even though it was the most expensive (2,000 EGP versus ~700 EGP for others), and it was absolutely worth it – truly a highlight and not to be missed. After a brief stop at an alabaster workshop, Marian suggested a local buffet restaurant for lunch, which was another great call. In the afternoon, we visited Karnak and Luxor Temples, which left us awestruck. Having Marian with us made a huge difference; her explanations and stories brought the carvings and reliefs to life in a way we never could have appreciated on our own. We finished the day with a relaxing boat ride on the Nile before heading back to the train for our return to Cairo. Overall, this was one of the most efficient, educational, and enjoyable sightseeing days we have had in Egypt. The logistics were smooth, the pace was well managed, and Marian and her team were fantastic throughout. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Marian as your guide.Show more

SEAMLESS EXPERIENCE Itinerary - Giza to Luxor (round trip) - Pre/Leaving Giza: we had a driver who picked us up from our hotel and took us to the station and to our cabin room. We had booked for 3 people but researched the cabins were in doubles so one person would have to sleep alone. We asked the operator via WhatsApp if this can be accomodated for and they said us at an additional fee which was fine as we didn’t want the single to bunk with a stranger. The driver was fun and personable. - En route: Sleeper train can be a bit dated but there are cabins and carriages that are in better condition. There is a lounge area available which was great. Food (breakfast and dinner) was okay for a sleeper train. We all slept quite well and it had everything we needed including charging ports. - At Luxor: greeted by driver and tour guide (Hussein and Hany Yessen) who were the best hosts ever! Got us breakfast and drinks to start the day. Guide was VERY thoughtful - gave us nap time in the car and timed tours based on how hot it was (it reached 47 degrees). Explanations were helpful and insightful. We had sufficient time to explore. - leaving Luxor - we booked for connected room but we weren’t given it. The guide sorted us out and worked very hard for us to get connected rooms in the end - calling people, speaking to people at the station and on the train. Hany is the best!!! Highly recommend. There are many sellers on the street - having a guide in Luxor will save you a lot of money.Show more

Got to see the highlights of Luxor in air conditioned car, which is very much needed in the summer. The guide, Khaled El Saady, was mindful of breaks and were always in air conditioned area of the sights. I enjoyed my time and was happy to see so many temples in a short amount if time. Khaled is an experienced Egyptologist and was great to learn about the history at each temple. The driver, Hgag, was very friendly and always picking us up on time.Show more

Fardouse was my guide in Cairo - she was very knowledgeable on all the pyramids, tombs and sights. Khaled El Saady was my guide in Luxor - he was remarkable with his knowledge of the temples and tombs! All the drivers especially Islam were remarkable and Peter ensured I had full knowledge of the plan at every step. Incredible experience all round with so many memories and beautiful photos. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
