  I would have rated it 1 star if not for a couple of highlights (Our middle travel assistant Louisa for example) however overall this was a poor experience. The biggest problem was a distinct lack of communication from the very beginning all of the US customers were looking for an airport pickup from TourRadar while it turns out that the tour was run by a company named Wamos Plus. The first two thirds of the trip went pretty smoothly but once we headed to Malaga everything fell apart. The provided dinner from the "Premium Package" was literally a frozen mystery meat patty with grilled onions on top! Our transfer to the train station was never communicated in writing and our driver spoke no English and was unable to explain anything to us. After getting on the wrong coach, then wrong seats we finally figured it out. Once we arrived in Madrid there was no clear communication on where to meet the driver and it took us nearly an hour to find the bus. There was then an uncommunicated change of hotel, the new hotel was SLAMMED with tour busses which made it nearly impossible to get breakfast and to find our driver to the airport. The driver again didn't speak English and had trouble finding us. The general theme is lack of communication.Show more

  The itinerary was excellent. The only reason we have it a 4 vs a 5 is that we paid for 1st: “superior” hotels and , a- a couple of the hotels like the Novotel and the Hilton Garden Inn did not have appropriate AC and the bathroom were not as clean as expected; and b- others that did not pay for superior rooms sometimes did stay in better hotels. The folks rating the hotels should have higher standards.Show more

  I have traveled extensively and used various tour companies and I can say hands down this is by far this is the worst experience I have ever had. They are unorganized, they do not communicate clearly and are beyond rude when you try to ask questions or clarify anything. First - Upon arriving at the airport they are supposed to pick you up. NOWHERE does anyone tell you the name of the company picking you up is a whole different company you are looking for ! Second - The premium package that includes food?? HA, awful food and includes multiple stops at truck stops ! Third - They must market this mainly to spanish speaking companies because the entire trip and tour was catered to spanish speaking people. They tried to get english speaking people for the 5 people who spoke English and they did a so-so job translating. At the end, no english and they put us with a Brazilian family to fend for ourselves. Luckily they were super nice and one spoke some english or we would have been so in trouble catching our train back to Madrid. Fourth - We paid for the premium hotels, but we were downgraded in the last city because they did not want to bother with 2 groups in the last city stop as there were only 11 of us. It is all about making things easy on THEM!! Fifth - Another person had consistent issues and noted they never apologied for any inconvenience and I also have noticed their complete lack of any customer service. The emails I have receives are so obnoxious. Sixth - They run you ragged, zero time to spend some time in the spots for more than 15 -20 minutes. Up super early, hours on a bus..... The ONLY reason I did not give them 1 star is that the hotels were nice overall and we did get to all of the destinations.Show more

  The group was too big and often felt chaotic and difficult to know when we were supposed to meet. Felt like a high risk of losing the guide in crowded areas so couldn’t relax. Food wasn’t great and tapas on first day was awful. Managed to change my flight and left the trip half way through.Show more

  During our recent tour of Spain we experienced several issues that made our experience less than desirable. Please accept our criticisms as means to improve your offerings to others in the future. • MapaPlus was the responsible tour operator while we were in Spain. The following issues resulted in a less than anticipated experience: o On the arrival day, MapaPlus was to provide a transfer from our hotel in Madrid to the AC Hotel. It was previously communicated that we would be at the Aloft Hotel in Madrid rather than arriving at the Madrid Airport. After 30-minutes past our coordinated pickup time, we made several phone calls inquiring about our transfer. An hour and half later, we were instructed to take a taxi and we’d be reimbursed for our expense. After discussions with multiple tour guides, we were finally reimbursed. o The tour was a bilingual tour in Spanish and English. While on the coach, we found that the descriptions provided to the Spanish speaking guests were quite extensive, while those in English were very limited. We had a better experience at destinations where an English speaking guide was provided for our smaller group. o We were informed (very forceable) by the MapaPlus guide that our description of activities while in Granada were a cut-and-paste from 2019, and wouldn’t be entitled to the evening activities. They provided an authentic flamingo cave dancing experience at 40-Euro/each, which turned into a very cheesy late-night experience. Fortunately for us, TourRadar compensated us for this experience; unfortunately, we had to negotiate through the patronizing comments from our guide. o On our final day in Madrid, a transfer from the hotel to the airport was part of the package. Again, after waiting 15-minutes we grew concerned that time wouldn’t allow for us to make our flight home. We contacting a MapaPlus tour guide (from another tour group), and were told to wait our driver was on the way. Thirty minutes after our schedule pickup, we were informed that our MapaPlus driver had mechanical difficulties and delayed by traffic. We were instructed to take a taxi to the airport and request reimbursement when we get home. While we did meet some nice people on the tour, we will not be utilizing your services in the future.   Hotels, tour guides, transpiration, transfers all very good. Our only complaint was the bus cleanliness, we rode in from Madrid for several days. When we started our long drive on Tuesday morning, our tray tables had not been cleaned. We had dirty napkins, food crumbs on the tray tables. Other folks also had dirty tray tables. The driver should clean all tray tables every night. Especially at the start of a trip and during Covid!Show more
