  I need access to electricity at all overnight accommodations for a CPAP machine. Will this be available on a 9-10 day tour of Uzbekistan?

    If you're travelling solo, we strongly recommend booking a single supplement (if available). While not compulsory, CPAP machines can be noisy and may disturb fellow travellers in shared rooms. Will you be bringing a portable battery for your CPAP machine? If not, are there any nights where you can go without using it? We recommend packing an extension cord, as power outlets may not always be conveniently located near the bed. Have you checked whether your machine is compatible with the voltage and plug type in your destination? If you're unsure, feel free to ask us - we may need to check with our local operator, and responses can take a few days.

    It is my husband that needs to use the CPAP machine. It is not noisy at all. We do not believe that there will be a problem with an extension. The machine has a long lead and also a long hose. We require 230-240 volts.

    If you're rooming together that's great then! I have reached out to our local team just to ensure that the accommodations are able to provide stable electricity throughout the trip. This is a Premium Intrepid trip so I don't believe the electricity will be a problem but we'll get back to you as soon as we hear from our team, which can sometimes take a few business days.

    Regarding the visa, travellers are responsible for ensuring they have the correct visa and entry requirements for their nationality. As requirements can change, we recommend that you check the latest information through the government's travel advisory or consular website. Please also note that all visitors to Uzbekistan must register with the local Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 3 working days of arrival. When staying at hotels, this registration is typically completed automatically.

    The trip begins in Tashkent with a welcome meeting and city tour including the Khast Imom Complex, Chorsu Bazaar and the metro system. Travellers then take the high-speed Afrosiab train to Samarkand, where they explore historic Silk Road sites such as Registan Square, Shah-i-Zinda and Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, along with artisan workshops and a traditional cooking experience with a local family. The journey continues to Bukhara, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its historic mosques, trading domes and cultural landmarks, including a folklore and music performance. The trip then travels through the Kyzyl-Kum Desert to Khiva, where travellers explore the beautifully preserved old city, historic minarets, mosques and palaces, and participate in a Khorezmian cooking class. The tour concludes back in Tashkent with a farewell dinner.

  We like history, culture and eating. We also like to get out of cities and enjoy some of the surrounding area. Our preference is a private or very small group (3-6 maximum, including us two) and don't mind a group tour (less than 16 or less). Anywhere from 10-12 days. We enjoy boutique hotels that are centrally located or 4 - 5 star hotels.

    This trip includes a domestic flight from Urgench to Tashkent. The luggage allowance is 20kg for checked baggage and 5kg for carry-on. Regarding accommodation, a double room can certainly be arranged upon request, subject to availability at the time of booking.

    Accommodation on our trips will be on twin share accommodation and passengers will have to share accommodation with another passenger of the same gender. However, if would like to have your own room, a single supplement can be booked at an additional cost of AUD $725 but it's subject to availability.
