10 Day Uzbekistan Itinerary, incl. Tashkent and Samarkand
Premium 10-day tour links 5 key cities: Tashkent's modern quarters, Samarkand's Registan Square, Bukhara's trading domes, Khiva's preserved old town, and Gijduvon's ceramic workshops. High-speed trains connect major stops, with domestic flight from Khiva to Tashkent.

- Days 1-2
Tashkent
Start in the capital by exploring the Tashkent Metro. Each station shows off unique Soviet-era art and beautiful chandeliers. Visit Chorsu Bazaar in the morning for the freshest produce. A recent visitor advised: "Getting to the Khast Imom Complex early helped beat both crowds and heat – don't miss the ancient Quran in the library."

- Days 3-4
Samarkand
Take the high-speed Afrosiab train to Samarkand. The trip takes 2 hours. Pick morning trains to avoid crowds. Get to Registan Square for sunrise photos before tour groups show up. Visit Shah-i-Zinda necropolis in late afternoon when sunlight makes the tiles look their best. Learn to cook plov with a local family to really understand this important Uzbek dish.

- Days 5-6
Bukhara
Another quick train ride (1.5 hours) takes you to historic Bukhara. You can walk everywhere in the old center. Book a place near Lyabi-Hauz pond in the old town. Bring cash for shopping at the trading domes since cards aren't widely accepted. Summer gets very hot here, over 95°F (35°C), so plan indoor activities during peak heat hours.

- Days 7-8
Khiva
- Days 9-10
Return to Tashkent
10 Day Uzbekistan Itinerary, incl. Tashkent and Samarkand
A vibrant 10-day route connects 5 major cities across Uzbekistan. From Tashkent's modern core, travelers visit Samarkand's Registan Square, sleep in yurts at Aydar Kul Camp, explore Bukhara's trading domes, and end in UNESCO-listed Khiva's mud-brick labyrinth, all for approx. $200 per day.

- Day 1
Tashkent
Begin your Uzbekistan journey in the capital, where Soviet architecture meets Islamic design. "Get oriented with the Chorsu Bazaar early - it's less crowded in the morning and the light is perfect for photos of the blue-domed building." Remember to exchange money at official banks and get small bills for shopping.

- Days 2-3
Samarkand
Take the high-speed train to Samarkand (3.5 hours). Visit Registan Square complex at 8AM when the light is best and before crowds arrive. You'll want to see the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and Bibi-Khanum Mosque too. "The intricate tile work at Shah-i-Zinda left me speechless. Bring a scarf for mosque visits and wear shoes you can easily slip on/off."

- Day 4
Nurata & Desert Yurt Stay
Take a 4.5-hour drive to the desert to see the Nurata shrine complex and Alexander the Great's fortress ruins. Stop at Aidarkul Lake for a swim if you like, then spend the night in a traditional yurt camp. "Pack light for the yurt stay - space is limited. The evening Kazakh folk music performance under the stars was magical."

- Days 5-6

- Uzbekistan cultural tour - 10 days
All local guides were very knowledgeable, considerate and thoughtful. The person who stands out was our driver Ikrom…one of the guides once mentioned ‘now we have to find our driver’ to which I responded ‘no, Ikrom finds us!’ Which made him stand out so much, amongst other things, we felt so looked after, he was very respectful and gallant, always on the lookout for us, on the long roadtrips we had wonderful conversations and laughter, 5+ stars to Ikrom It took us some time to get used to the typical driving in Uzbekistan, the driver we had on the daytrip to Karakalpakstan had us curling our toes at times! The 4cities were incredible to visit! So much history, so many details, so many wonderful colours and local people super kind and polite. We felt very safe during our visit and enjoyed Uzbekistan very much!
