Over all the cruise was good. I was aware that the cruise company was French but from the reviews I read I understood there was usually 10-15 English speaking tourists out of 90 passengers and that because the cruise offered single accomodation there was usually some other single travellers. Also because the cruise was out of Amsterdam, where almost everyone speaks some English, the language would not be a problem. However, there was only one other couple from Adelaide who spoke English on board and very limited staff that spoke English. The other cruisers were French and a group from Belgium who only spoke Flemish. The accomodation and food were very good but with the significant language barrier it was very isolating onboard. We didn’t always get all the information that other passengers got. However On 2 days we were provided with an English speaking guide which enabled the 3 of us to see and do so much more than a larger group was able to do which was excellent. The information I was given about boarding the boat stated boarding at 6 pm, however when I got on board I was told I should boarded at 1600 (ie 4 pm) as the boat was cruising from 6 pm. I had had to fill in a couple of hours in Amsterdam waiting for the boarding time so this not a great start. I enjoyed the cruise, however, having cruised in Europe before, the language issue was disappointing.Show more
