You'll arrive in Dublin and pick up your rental car at the airport, then drive to Dunboyne Castle Hotel in County Meath. The hotel sits on 21 acres of gardens in a beautiful Georgian mansion, so you'll have time to settle in and explore the grounds or check out the historic local area. Dinner is at your hotel.

Dunboyne to Kilkenny
Head to Kilkenny today to see this small city's medieval heritage. You can walk along the Medieval Mile on the main street, check out the 13th-century cathedral, and visit the castle that the Anglo-Normans built back in 1195. There's plenty to see in the compact city center.

Kilkenny
You have two choices for the day. One option is to visit Waterford, or you can drive to New Ross in County Wexford to see the Dunbrody Famine Ship, a replica from the 1840s that carried emigrants to North America. Either way, you'll return to Kilkenny for dinner at your hotel.

Kilkenny to Killarney
The drive to Killarney takes you through some nice areas with optional stops along the way. Cobh is a charming harbor town with candy-colored homes and historical significance as the Titanic's last port in 1912. If you're interested, you can also stop at Blarney Castle to kiss the famous stone. Arrive in Killarney for dinner at your hotel.

This day is flexible based on what interests you around Killarney. Dinner is on your own, and you'll head back to your hotel.

Driving north toward Galway, you can stop at the Cliffs of Moher if you want, where the sea cliffs rise 700 feet above the Atlantic. On clear days you'll see views of Galway Bay and the Aran Islands. After that, continue to Salthill, the seaside suburb where your hotel is located. You can explore the lively pubs nearby or venture into Galway city itself with its street performers and medieval buildings, then have dinner at your hotel.

Salthill | Galway

You can hike or bike to Dun Aengus, a dramatic Iron Age fortress on sheer cliffs, explore the island by hired tour, or have a casual lunch in Kilronan village. Ferry back to Salthill for the evening.
