- AColleen Fultz· July 3rd, 2023The level of organization to synchronize all the variables in a tour of this type is excellent. All the features of the tour were interesting and a pleasure to experience. Our primary guide and coach driver was as good as can be hoped for, both for his commentary and his driving skills. There was a lot to keep up with and a pretty busy schedule involved, and handled quite well. We especially enjoyed the events when local story tellers and musicians performed and the sheep dog herding demonstration. A few minuses: Our room wasn't ready in our Kilkenny hotel even though we arrived a half hour past check in time. The dinners served at the hotels were very similar and while satisfactory to eat were not in any way particularly special. The audio system on the coach was less than ideal, with some static and noise in Peter's presentations. Asked on May 21st, 2025We have recently learned that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing in Ireland on September 28th. We are huge Steelers fans, and while we don't need to go to the game, we would very much like to watch the game in a true Irish pub with football fans. Would this schedule allow for us to watch the game at a pub or is there a conflict?
CIE ToursOperator•Written May 2025On September 28th, as part of this tour package, you'll have free time in Killarney starting around 1:30 PM, so you should have time to catch the game as long as you don't hit any delays. The planned kick off is 2:30pm and Sky news will definitely be playing the game. While we can't guarantee availability, we recommend letting your tour director know you'd like to catch it, and they can help point you to a nearby pub with a good atmosphere. Please note that watching the game is not part of the official itinerary, but based on the current schedule, you should have a good chance to enjoy it.

Asked on February 5th, 2025We are two seniors, one of which has balance issues and uses a rollator. So we are looking for a small tour that includes an easy pace and accessible travel. Is this pub tour suitable for us?

Our coaches are not handicap accessible. You must be able to get on and off the coach unaided by CIE Tours staff and be able to rotate seats on the coach. If you need extra walking assistance, you may bring a rollator, wheelchair or walker, but it must be lightweight and fully collapsible and can be stowed in the luggage compartment. We have a few small group departures on the Irish Pub tour, 26 people max. These departures include the June 14th and Sept 17th start dates.

Traveler•Written February 2025My husband can climb stairs with rails so can get on and off of coaches and his rollator does collapse. I more want to know whether the hotels are easy to navigate (e.g. elevators, stairs with rails). Are the 5/21 and 5/28 dates unavailable?

Not all hotels have elevators, some may require some stairs or steps. We do list our hotels for the tour package if you would like to check directly with the hotel regarding this. 5/21 and 5/28 dates are available, but are regular sized departures of 44 people maximum.
