Lima
Your first day starts in Lima where you'll check out the colonial churches and underground catacombs this morning. After that, head to the bohemian Barranco district and cross the Bridge of Sighs. By evening, you'll have time to try some ceviche and watch the sunset over the Pacific with a pisco sour in hand.

- Day 2
Lima to Arequipa
An included flight takes you to Arequipa, Peru's second-largest city set beneath three volcanoes. You'll do a city tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Plaza de Armas. Dinner features local specialties like Rocoto Relleno and Chupe de Camarones, giving you a real taste of the region's food.

Arequipa to Colca Canyon
You'll leave Arequipa this morning and travel toward Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons around. The route takes you through Salinas and Aguada Blanca national reserve where you'll stop for hot coca tea while passing windswept landscapes with sandstone cliffs dotted throughout. By afternoon you'll reach the highest point of the entire trip at 4,910 metres above sea level (same elevation as Mont Blanc), and from there you'll get your first view of Colca Canyon spreading out below.

Colca Canyon
Start early searching for the Andean Condor with its 3-metre wingspan. You'll spend the day taking in views of Colca Canyon. After lunch in Chivay, you'll continue to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca and settle into your hotel or explore the town's nightlife.

Lake Titicaca
Take a triciclo to the port and board a boat to Taquile Island where you'll meet local weaving groups and have lunch. From there, continue to the Uros Islands (floating reed islands) to see a fish farm and museum. You'll spend the night at a homestay in Llachon Village.

Cusco to Sacred Valley
Travel by private coach into the Sacred Valley and visit a llama farm to see llamas, vicunas and alpacas up close. There's time to play the traditional game of Sapo, do a guided tour of Pisac ruins and Ollantaytambo, try homemade Chicha de Jora, and explore artisan shops in Ollantaytambo town.

Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes
Trekkers will grab a packed lunch and take the train to KM104 to start a 13-kilometre day trek lasting about 3.5 hours on foot, descending to see Huayna Picchu before heading to Aguas Calientes. Non-trekkers take an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. Everyone meets up in this gateway town known for its river, quaint bridges, and local spots.

Board the train back to Cusco and spend the evening exploring markets and cobbled streets, perhaps trying local cuy.

Transfer by boat to your rainforest lodge, hike to the canopy tower to build appetite, then enjoy home-cooked dinner. Later, head out at night to spot caimans in the Amazon.
