  I recently traveled through Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, along with Orchha, Khajuraho, and Varanasi, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the stunning Taj Mahal at sunrise to the colorful palaces of Jaipur, every stop offered something unique. Orchha felt peaceful and untouched, Khajuraho’s temples were incredibly detailed, and Varanasi was deeply spiritual and moving. India can be intense and overwhelming at times, but it’s also vibrant, rich in history, and full of life.   The opportunity to go on a classic North India tour that covered the famous Golden Triangle along with Orchha, Khajuraho, and Varanasi. It was an experience of a lifetime and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the culture, history, and spirituality of India. The tour started in Delhi, the bustling capital city of India. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the city’s history and landmarks. We visited the iconic Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Qutub Minar, among other places. The highlight of the day was a rickshaw ride through the chaotic streets of Old Delhi, where we got a glimpse of the local way of life. Next, we headed to Agra, home to the magnificent Taj Mahal. Seeing this wonder of the world up close was a surreal experience. The intricate marble work and beautiful gardens left us in awe. We also visited Agra Fort, another stunning Mughal monument, and learned about its rich history. From Agra, we made our way to Jaipur, also known as the “Pink City” due to its pink-colored buildings. The city was full of vibrant markets, beautiful palaces, and forts. We visited the City Palace, Amber Fort, and the famous Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds. The city also offered delicious Rajasthani cuisine, which was a delight for our taste buds. After Jaipur, we headed to Orchha, a small town in Madhya Pradesh. This offbeat destination was a pleasant surprise. The town was filled with ancient temples and palaces, and we got a glimpse of rural India. The highlight of our visit was the Sound and Light show at the Orchha Fort, which told the story of the town’s rich history in a captivating way. Next up was Khajuraho, famous for its stunning temples adorned with intricate sculptures and carvings. These temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit for anyone interested in art and architecture. Our guide explained the stories behind the sculptures, and we were left amazed by the level of detail and craftsmanship. The final stop on our tour was Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world and a major spiritual center for Hindus. We witnessed the evening Aarti ceremony on the banks of the Ganges River, which was a truly mesmerizing experience. We also took a boat ride along the river and saw the city come to life in the early morning hours. Overall, the classic North India tour was an unforgettable experience. From the bustling cities to the serene towns, each destination had its unique charm. Our accommodations were comfortable and the local food was delicious.
