- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu Airport and get picked up by private car to head to your hotel. Meet your trekking guide and then walk through the local bazaars to get your bearings after the flight. It's a good chance to shake off travel fatigue and start getting oriented to the city.

- Day 2
Kathmandu
Spend seven hours on a guided tour checking out UNESCO World Heritage sites around Kathmandu. You'll see Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu shrine, then move on to the Buddhist sites at Boudhanath and Swayambhunath. The day ends at Kathmandu Durbar Square where you can see the detailed ancient Nepalese craftsmanship. Make sure your gear is ready for the trek ahead.

Kathmandu to Besisahar
Leave Kathmandu early for nearly an eight-hour drive along the Prithvi Highway on a tourist bus. You'll pass the Trishuli and Marsyandi rivers, which are known for rafting, and travel through rural areas with green rice fields, small villages, streams, and mountain views. After reaching Dumre, head north on a narrow paved road to get to Besisahar.

Besisahar to Dharapani
After breakfast, take a local jeep from Besisahar through Chamje village toward Dharapani. The route goes through fields of barley, rice, and potatoes with waterfalls along the way, passing Kodo village before arriving at Dharapani, one of the bigger settlements in the Manang valley.

- Day 5
Dharapani to Chame
Start trekking from Dharapani on a trail that climbs steeply at first, then descends westward to Bagarchhap, a small village with Tibetan-style houses and Buddhist elements. After that, walk through fir and pine woodlands, cross several bridges, and pass a waterfall surrounded by oak and maple trees. Climb steep stone steps to reach Chame at 2,710m, the district headquarters, where you'll see views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna IV, and Annapurna II.

Chame to Pisang
Trek through thick woodland on an abrupt trail until you reach a curved rock face that rises 1,500m from the river. As the forest opens up, cross the river several times using suspension bridges. The trail then opens to show the U-shaped Manang valley with two massive snow-capped peaks on either side. Reach Pisang village at 3,300m with great mountain views.

- Day 7
Pisang to Manang
The trail splits here, so take the upper route through Upper Pisang and Ghyaru village, where you'll see charming stone houses and views of Pisang Himal and Annapurna. Continue through Ngawal, which has a Gompa and old juniper trees, then trek downward through Mungji to reach the Thakali village of Manang at 3,519m. The higher elevation starts to feel noticeably colder and drier.

Manang
Spend the day in Manang resting and letting your body adjust to the altitude before heading higher. Stop by the Himalayan Rescue Association outpost for medical information about Acute Mountain Sickness. If you want to explore, check out Gangapurna Lake at 3,525m or Cave Gompa at 4,000m, both offering views across the Annapurna range. Taking it easy today is important for safety.

Manang to Kangsar
After breakfast, trek to Kangsar village. The trail cuts through a gorge where Tilicho Peak sometimes appears through the clouds. You'll walk through small settlements and pass the Tore monastery while following the Khangsar River with the grand barrier visible ahead and natural beauty of the Annapurna range throughout.

Kangsar to Tilicho Base Camp
Trek from Kangsar across wide grassy fields and over a small hill with broad valley views all around. From there, descend steeply to reach Tilicho Base Camp. Note that camping is your only option here since lodges are very limited in this area.

Tilicho Lake
After a tough climb at the start, the trail goes across a moraine and along the mountainside. Throughout the day, you'll have great views of Tilicho, Nilgiri, Khangsar, and Muktinath peaks. Reach the quiet Tilicho Lake, one of the world's highest lakes at this elevation, where the turquoise water reflects the surrounding mountains or sits frozen depending on the season. Take time to rest and enjoy the views before heading back to base camp.

Landmarks Tilicho Lake Nilgiri Peak Khangsar Peak Muktinath Peak - Day 12
Tilicho Base Camp to Yak Kharka
Trek from Shree Kharka as the trail leaves the Marsyandi valley behind. The landscape changes dramatically as trees disappear and alpine vegetation takes over. Continue a few hundred meters above Khangsar village and pass through old ruins until crossing a log bridge over the river between Gumsang and Yak Kharka. Views of Annapurna III are constant. Yak Kharka is a typical Himalayan settlement with many grazing yaks.

Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
This is a tough trekking day. Head north along the trail and cross a suspension bridge to reach Ledar village. The path has massive cliffs next to it as you climb upward to Thorong Phedi with views of Annapurna III and elegant peaks like Syagang, Gundang, and Khatungkang. Thorong Phedi sits at the base of Thorang la peak at 6,144m and is the last settlement before reaching the pass.

Thorong Phedi to Muktinath
Start at dawn for the most difficult trek of the trip, climbing steeply to Thorong La Pass at 5,416m, the world's highest mountain pass and your highest point on this trek. Each step is hard work, but the reward is the incredible views of the Annapurna range to the south and Mukut Himal to the west. After reaching the top, descend past grasslands to Muktinath at 3,800m, a sacred shrine to the Hindu deity Vishnu, honored by both Hindus and Buddhists.

- Day 15
Muktinath to Jomsom
After leaving Muktinath, head to Ranipauwa village. Along the way, you'll meet other trekkers, pilgrims, and backpackers also heading to Muktinath. Make a steep descent down an arid hillside to reach Kagbeni, then continue on to Jomsom.

Jomsom to Pokhara
After breakfast, take a scenic 30-minute flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city and getting to know the area at your own pace.

- Day 17
Pokhara to Kathmandu
Take another scenic flight from Pokhara back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel, either Hotel Dream City or The Exotic House. Take time to relax at your hotel after arrival. Later in the evening, head out to the bright marketplaces to pick up any last-minute souvenirs.

Kathmandu Departure
Your time in Nepal ends today. About 3 hours before your flight, you'll get a ride to Kathmandu Airport. Safe travels and farewell.
