I am looking at doing tours to Egypt and Jordan in March or April 2026 as a single traveler. Would it be possible to do the overnight train sleeper from Cairo to Luxor rather than flying.

As our tours are sold as fixed packages, itinerary modifications are not possible.

I'm wondering about the typical demographic for a tour like this. I'm a female uni student (20yo) travelling solo. Do there tend to be people like me on a tour like this?

Was so happy it was Ciconia that took us under their wing. Was very upsetting and confusing, to find we had not been informed about any of the hotel changes, nor the start date of the tour. Some of the experiences were different than the original documents and itnenary that we downloaded as our tour details. Cost us an extra $780 US for extra nights accomodation ( which we had not budgeted for!) The tour folk of Ciconia were understanding and took care of us and calmed my nerves ( as a first time travellers it was very upsetting and I could feel my heart racing and about to have a panic attack) Not the best way to start our trip of a life time travel! Next time I will book directly with Ciconia and would Never recommend Tour Radar to anyone. You really do need to keep your customers informed and to treat them with such disrespect, is deceitful. You are sor lucky that Ciconia looked after us as I was so near to looking at a law suit for not treating us or informing us of changes.Show more

Overall the trip was enjoyable, but in spite of the accommodations at some locations and the sense of falsely characterizing the trip as luxury. Ciconia needs to fix this tour. Our guide, Safi in Egypt, and Mohammad in Jordan were great and we had a wonderful cohesiveness to the group. This helped to salvage the trip. In Jordan, Mohammad and the other guide, had no Ciconia liaison as that person was on holiday, they had to manage everything in their own which was not what their energies should have been spent doing. The Nile River Cruise ship was not luxury in any way. It had very dated look and feel, maybe had been luxury 30 years ago. The staff were wonderful and hard working, and did their best to make it an enjoyable ride, which the actual voyage and scenery were nice. Our first night, our shower leaked into the hallway and the shower looked like it had not been cleaned. We had to push to be changes to a different room. The stay at Wadi Rum was nearly a disaster. The facility was not aware we were coming, or at least how many of us there were. We were put in a camp much further away than the main camp, but that was a blessing as it was more natural beauty. There were not enough towels, the bathroom was not well cleaned, there was no water for us, and there was only one person who was trying to keep everything going. He did have help during the dinner our one night there, but it was only one person extra. The food was tasty, but ran out quickly and was presented in a way that again was not a luxury experience as advertised. If it had been billed as a three-star experience then it would have been accurate. Still the friendships we made on this trip and the historical sites and the guides, made this a memorable experience, not the actual trip.Show more

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
