- Day 1
Berchtesgaden
You'll arrive at your hotel in Berchtesgaden to settle in and get oriented. Getting there is straightforward with a direct train option, or you can take the train and public bus route from Salzburg if that works better with your schedule. This gives you time to rest up before the hiking begins tomorrow.

- Day 2
Berchtesgaden National Park
After heading to the Berchtesgaden National Park entrance, your hiking tour kicks off on a scenic trail that takes you up to a former miners hut, then across alpine pastures. From there, you'll descend through the impressive Seisenberg gorge and down into the Saalach valley. It's a rewarding route that shows you different landscapes in one day.

Grass Mountain
You'll transfer to Grass Mountain where the hike takes you through alpine pastures toward a small summit. The views from up there cover the Alps and glaciers, and if conditions are right, you'll see Lake Zellersee. On the way down, you'll pass mountain huts before reaching either the village of Dienten or Hintermoos depending on your route choice.

Landmarks Grass Mountain Zellersee - Day 4
Hochkönig Alpine Pastures
This day features one of Austria's best alpine pasture hikes, trekking between mountain huts along the steep Hochkönig walls. You're walking through pastoral landscapes that feel remote but well-maintained with hut stops along the way. By late afternoon, you'll head back to your hotel by bus, or if you have energy left, continue on foot.

Landmarks Hochkönig - Day 5
Rest Day
Today's yours to use however you want. Rest at the hotel if your legs need a break, or use the complimentary guest card to hop on public buses and explore the surrounding area at your own pace. It's a good day to refuel and do lighter activities.

Arthurhaus to Salzach Valley
Take the bus up to Arthurhaus, then start your descent along the old miners path toward Salzach valley. As you walk, you'll see Hohenwerfen fortress from below, which is quite a sight. If you're interested, there's an option to climb up to the castle to check out bird-of-prey demonstrations and a weapons collection. By evening, you'll take the train to Golling.

Landmarks Hohenwerfen Castle - Day 7
Jenner Peak
You'll hike up to Jenner peak where the views let you see much of what you've covered during the tour. The scenic route continues through the former archbishop's hunting valley, past stone walls and steep sections, heading toward the Austrian-German border and into alpine pastures. Instead of hiking all the way down, you can take the cable car with views of Eagle's Nest visible from above.

Departure
Your trip ends as you depart from Berchtesgaden or Lake Königssee, heading home with memories of the hiking routes and alpine scenery you've experienced over the past week.
