Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you'll have a short guided tour of the nearby area, then free time to walk around on your own and get familiar with the place.

- Day 2
Paro Fortresses and Temples
Start by checking out ancient fortresses like Zurig Dzong and Ta Dzong (which now houses the national museum with views over Paro), followed by Rinpung Dzong. You'll cross Nyima Zam, Bhutan's oldest bridge, to reach Ugyen Pelri Palace and explore Paro township. After that, head to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the country's oldest temples known for its famous orange tree, then see Drukgyel Dzong from 1648. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Chele La Pass and Kila Gompa
Drive up to Chele La Pass at 3,988m/12,499ft, the highest altitude road pass in Bhutan, passing through pine and rhododendron forests with possible views of Mt Jomolhari and Haa Valley if conditions are clear. Then hike through dense forest to Kila Gompa, a quiet nunnery rebuilt in 1986. You can either bike down to Paro Valley or drive to Haa Valley on the other side if you prefer. Head back to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Bumdra Wilderness Camp Trek
Head to Sang Choekor and take a pony ride up the ridge, which takes 1-2 hours and passes prayer flags with views of Paro and Do Chhu Valleys. Walk to Chhoe Tse Lhakhang temple with Himalayan Mountain views, then trek through old forest before reaching a meadow with chortens and prayer flags. You'll stay overnight at Bumdra Wilderness Camp at 3,800m below the monastery. After lunch, visit Bumdra Monastery and climb to a peak at 4000m for mountain views.

Taktsang Monastery Trek
Trek down through ancient pine and rhododendron forest on a zigzag trail for about 2 hours, seeing temple roofs below as you descend. Continue across the mountainside to Zangtopelri Monastery with views of Taktsang Monastery on the cliff face. Trek another hour to reach Taktsang Monastery with valley views all around. After a 45-minute descent to the valley floor, drive back to Paro for dinner and overnight.

- Day 6
Departure
Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines flights depart early in the morning to avoid bad weather. Your guide will pick you up from the hotel between 5am and 9am depending on your flight time and where you're headed, then take you to the airport.
