- Day 1
Colombo to Nuwara Eliya
You'll get picked up at Colombo Airport and head toward Nuwara Eliya, a hill station that feels like you've stepped into colonial England. The drive takes about 7 hours, and you'll pass Ramboda Falls along the way with some nice views of the surrounding hills. Once you reach your hotel, there's time to settle in and chat with your guide about what's coming next.

Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you're heading to Horton Plains for a trek where you'll see World's End, a big escarpment with views that stretch out forever. On the walk you'll also pass Baker's Falls and stop at Thotupola Kanda. Later in the day, the itinerary includes Hakgala Botanical Gardens, the colorful Seetha Amman Temple, and Gregory Lake. There's a city tour mixed in before you get back to your hotel by evening.

Nuwara Eliya
You'll spend more time exploring the Nuwara Eliya area and Horton Plains today. There are several waterfalls on the schedule - Devon Falls and St. Claire's Falls - and you'll also visit a tea plantation and tea factory to see how production works. During the day you'll check out the Old Post Office (historic building), walk through Victoria Botanical Garden, and browse the local vegetable market. Lover's Leap waterfall is another stop before heading back to your hotel to unwind.

Nuwara Eliya to Ella via Nine Arch Bridge
The drive to Ella takes you through some nice terrain, and you'll stop at the Nine Arch Bridge, which is an impressive example of old railway engineering from colonial times. After that, there's a hike up to Little Adams Peak where you get panoramic views of the area. Lunch happens at a local restaurant, and then you'll try the Flying Ravana Zip Line for an afternoon thrill. Before checking into your hotel, there's a short tour of Ella town itself.

Ella to Haputale
You're heading to Haputale, which sits up at 1431m on a mountain ridge. The Adisham Bungalow, a 19th-century colonial building inspired by Leeds Castle, is your first stop. Right next to it is the Thangamale Bird Sanctuary if you're interested in birdwatching. After that, you'll go to Lipton's Seat for views that stretch across multiple provinces. The evening is free to settle into your hotel and relax.

Haputale to Katharagama
After breakfast, you're traveling to Katharagama with a stop at Dunhida Waterfall along the way. The Katharagama temple complex is your main destination - it's a significant spiritual site with the Buddhist Kiri Vehera temple and the Katharagama Dewalaya shrine dedicated to Skanda Kumara. People from different faiths come here, so it has both Buddhist and Hindu importance. You'll head back to your hotel in the late afternoon to have some downtime.

Katharagama to Yala National Park
Today you're going on a full-day game drive through Yala National Park, one of the world's most biodiverse areas. You'll travel through forests, grasslands, and lagoons that border the Indian Ocean. The park is known for having the highest density of leopards anywhere, but you'll also see elephants, crocodiles, and lots of bird species if you're lucky. A traditional Sri Lankan lunch is included, and you'll be back at your accommodation by evening.

Yala to Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay
You'll experience village life with a safari component, then take a boat tour through Panama Lagoon. The mangrove forests are thick and full of life - you might spot crocodiles and see marine wildlife. There's also a stop at Panama Beach for swimming if you feel like it. Arugam Bay to Unawatuna
After about 5 hours of travel, you'll arrive at Unawatuna, one of Sri Lanka's most popular beaches. The sand is golden and banana-shaped, the water is turquoise, and palm trees line everything. You'll visit Weligama, a fishing village where you can watch people do stilt fishing, an ancient technique that's still practiced. There's time to explore the town in the evening before getting settled at your beachside hotel.

Unawatuna
An early transfer takes you to Mirissa for whale and dolphin watching. You might stop at the Matara Portuguese Fort on the way back, and then you'll return to your hotel to rest.

- Day 13
Unawatuna to Ahangama
You're traveling to Balapitiya with stops along the way. The Dutch Fort shows up as your first major stop - it was originally built by the Portuguese and later reinforced by the Dutch (you can still see a VOC carving from 1669). A river safari through Madu Ganga's mangrove forests is next, followed by a visit to a moonstone mine at Meetiyagoda. The Ambalangoda mask factory and Galle Fort are also on the itinerary, plus a chance to see traditional stilt fishing. Dinner and relaxation at your hotel wrap up the day.

Ahangama to Kitulgala
You'll travel to Kitulgala, which is known as Sri Lanka's adventure capital and sits on the Kelani River. After you arrive there's a welcome drink, then lunch at the adventure camp. The afternoon fills with thrilling activities - natural rock pool sliding, confidence jumps - and you'll get prepared for white-water rafting that comes later. Tea and snacks happen before dinner and an overnight stay at the Kitulgala Adventures camp.

There's also a cycling trip to a Belizean prehistoric cave on the schedule. Afternoon tea and snacks follow, and you'll spend another night at the camp.
