Merano
You'll arrive in Merano, a charming Mediterranean town nestled in South Tyrol's valleys. After checking into your hotel, take time to walk through the town's arcaded streets and head along the Passer esplanade where Empress Sissi once strolled. The riverside walk gives you a nice sense of the town's layout before settling in for the week.

- Day 2
Waal Paths - Nals
Start early on the Waal paths hiking through apple plantations toward an impressive waterfall. From there, you'll walk into the chestnut region around Tisens, stopping at the historic church of St. Christoph before continuing through woodland with valley views. The day ends in Nals, a small village surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Total hiking time is roughly 5-6 hours with moderate terrain.

Landmarks St. Christoph Church - Day 3
Castle Trail - Lake Caldaro
You'll tackle the castle trail in the morning, moving from fortress to fortress across steep terrain and seeing different historic architecture styles. After lunch, head to see the 'holes in the ice' natural phenomenon where icicles form even in summer. You'll pass the tower of St. George and walk through vineyards before reaching Lake Caldaro by afternoon. Plan for 6-7 hours of hiking.

- Day 4
Mendelpass - Coredo
Take an early train to Mendelpass for panoramic views of the surrounding region. From there, you'll walk across the plateau toward Nonstal, moving through canyons and small villages. The route includes a stop at the pilgrimage site of Saint Romedio and passes two alpine lakes before you reach Coredo in Trentino by evening. This is a longer hiking day at 7-8 hours.

Landmarks Mendelpass Saint Romedio Pilgrimage Site - Day 5
Val di Non - Molveno
Transfer through Val di Non's landscape to begin your hike. You'll walk through quiet forests to the church of San Tommaso with its panoramic square, then continue into the Priori nature park and across a karst lake wetland. Later you'll reach Andalo and then Molveno, sitting right at the base of the Brenta Dolomites on a turquoise alpine lake. Plan 6 hours of hiking.

- Day 6
Brenta Dolomites - Lago Nembia
Head up by cable car into the Pradel mountain area to access one of the region's best hiking routes through the Brenta Dolomites. Stop at a mountain hut for typical Italian snacks while taking in views of the surrounding peaks. The hike finishes by descending to Lago Nembia's crystal-clear green water where you can cool off or just enjoy the setting. Total time around 5-6 hours including cable car rides.

Landmarks Brenta Dolomites Lago Nembia - Day 7
Lomason Valley - Lake Garda
On your final hiking day, you'll walk through the Lomason valley meadows and climb to Rifugio Monte San Pietro for views of Lake Garda. From there, descend through winding streets and archways past stonewalls to Tenno's castle. Finish by walking through olive groves with Mediterranean cypress trees until you reach the shores of Lake Garda. This concludes your week with 5-6 hours of hiking.
