Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to Negombo Beach, about 15 minutes away. Once you settle into your hotel, you can relax on the long sandy beach with views of the Indian Ocean. If you've got the energy and time after arriving, the historical town center and Sri Lanka's second-largest fishing harbor are worth a walk through.

Elephant Camp
You'll head to Sri Lanka Elephant Camp for hands-on time with domestic elephants. Choose between bare-back riding or a casual Elephant Walk to see them up close, and an expert will be there to answer questions. After watching them feed, bathe, and play, check out the Elephant Museum and the Elephant Dung Paper Factory. Then you'll drive to Kandy for the night.

- Day 3
Sigiriya - Royal Botanical Gardens
Early in the day, travel to Sigiriya, an ancient fortress that rises steeply from the plains with nearly vertical walls leading to a flat-topped summit. The ruins here mark what was once King Kassapa's kingdom. On the way back to Kandy, stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens, which has an orchid collection and over 4,000 plant species. In the evening, you can catch a Kandy Dancing performance if you're interested.

Rainforest
Head to Kithulgala Rainforest to spot over 50 rare bird species including the Sri Lanka Spurfowl and Green-billed coucal. If you want more action, choose from hiking through scenic forests with views of the Kelani River valley, biking through jungles and tea plantations, or white water kayaking on the Kelani River with Class II to IV rapids.

Hill Country
Travel through the hill country past tea plantations, viewpoints, and waterfalls as you head to Ella, Sri Lanka's highest village. The temperature around here sits at about 28°C/82°F with cool nights. This laid-back town is surrounded by lush tea gardens, and if you hike, you'll get beautiful views of the Sri Lankan countryside spreading out below you.

Landmarks Ella - Day 6
Elephant Transit Home
Visit the second Elephant Camp next to Udawalawe National Park, where you can feed, bathe, or play with baby elephant calves being cared for until they're strong enough for the wild. The Elephant Transit Home is recognized as one of the world's best wild animal rehabilitation centers. Young elephants roam freely here, and wild ones sometimes visit too. In the afternoon or early morning, you have the option to do a 4x4 jeep safari at Yala National Park.

Departure
Depending on your departure time and next destination, you can take an early morning 4x4 jeep safari at Yala National Park, or drive along the South Coast with stops at Mirissa Beach and/or Galle. The tour ends once you reach your next location or the airport.
