  We had an absolutely wonderful experience touring the city of Kathmandu with our tour guide. We arrived from India and had forgotten our camera and our tour guide, Raj, was so kind to offer his to borrow for our entire trip! We came at just the start of monsoon season so we weren’t sure what to expect with our site seeing and how the weather might be but were pleasantly surprised we could do so much. At the end of the day we were pretty tired but content with getting to see so much! The tour guide company was very flexible and accommodating with our needs too. They were willing to let us pick different temples to see and allowed us to take a side quest for massages after our muscles were aching! Raj was able to quench my husband’s thirst for knowledge and kept all the interesting facts and stories coming. He was willing to hike up Chandragiri hills with my kids to satisfy their need to trek (fair warning: you probably don’t want to do this in monsoon season unless you’re prepared to pull off a crazy amount of leeches that come crawling on you. Eeek!) otherwise the view up top was good - they also had sky cycling (don’t waste your money on this lol) and zip lining (better choice). Kathmandu has a heck of a lot to offer and if you don’t have time to read up on all its history before you go, Raj will surely deliver! The Taleju hotel we stayed at was situated in the heart of the city and where tourists will enjoy great shopping finds. The view on the outdoor patio of the hotel garden at breakfast was just divine. The car which was provided for our journey from Kathmandu to Chitwan was spacious and comfortable. The roads are not so well maintained but our driver did a great job at keeping us safe on the road. Chitwan was such a wonderful place and will hold a special place in my heart. We learned a lot about the history of the Tharu people and had a wonderful canoe ride followed by an incredible sunset picnic! We couldn’t believe the wildlife sights on our safari tour - rhinos literally 15 feet from our car, crocodiles, thankfully not too close to us, but wading in the same river we’re paddling through! Kingfishers and spotted deer. Our guide helped us spot all these animals in the wild and let us linger if needed for a great pic. The preset meals at the resort were very filling and kept us powered for our journey. We actually felt too full and would skip a meal. Pokhara was a beautiful place as well. We were initially wondering where the mountains were and why the hotel description mentioned great Mountain views. In the morning we went up to the restaurant and the hotel employee told us we were lucky as the clouds had finally parted enough and then my jaw dropped. So the mountains were just hidden because of the clouds. Amazing views. That was pretty much the only highlight for the hotel but the tour company rectified any issues we had. Pokhara is also known for more tiny power outages, so just be prepared to enjoy the scenery and disconnect! Raj and his team were also able to secure a couple spots for my teenagers to go paragliding (wahoo!) We were able to see the Annapurnas at sunrise from Sarangkhot and enjoyed a walk near the lake at sunset. Back to Kathmandu and our tour guide allowed an added day of touring at a reasonable rate. A trip back to the airport after a misplaced passport and off to another temple and for shopping! Raj was just a delight and so willing to help us have an incredible memorable experience in beautiful Nepal. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide and this tour was very well put together. Thank you!! Tip for future travelers: wear good walking shoes and have cash for all the entrance fees and some more cash for shopping/tips etc. women- make sure you have a shirt to cover shoulders when entering temples and dress modestly. Haggle with the sellers to get a better price on the items you like. If you don’t like their prices, you can move on as you might find it cheaper somewhere else. Be flexible with an open mind and you will have fun!Show more

  Overall, I enjoyed my experience in Nepal. If I had it to do again, I would plan ahead and look to book the optional Mt. Everest flight on my own as well to see if it was more economical. The city tour of Kathmandu was nice. The tour lists Chitwan National park, we didn’t go in the park proper, only adjacent to it. Other things listed were elephant safari, elephant breeding center, elephant bathing. I didn’t not have the opportunity for any of these. I didn’t get to feed an elephant and pet it in the hotel garden. The canoe safari was ok, not a whole lot of opportunity to see animals as one side of the river borders the national park, but the other side is populated. If I hadn’t seen a gharial it wouldn’t have been worth it I don’t think. We did see several different bird species, which was neat. Even though we did not go in the park itself, the area we went to on the jeep safari was good and we managed to see 6 or 7 one horned rhinos. There were also some deer and birds. I understand that you won’t always see every animal on a safari and overall am happy with what I saw. I just feel that there was a little bit of bait and switch. I believe the area we went to is controlled by the indigenous Tharu people, as we also drove through a village and went to a small museum. There was also a cultural performance at the hotel. If the tour was build as supporting the local Tharu population, I would have been on board with that and am happy I did it. My driver spoke very limited English, which made for some challenges and long car rides.Show more

  Very good value tour. Our guide Raj was so informative and was always available to answer any questions. He was there for airport pick ups and drop offs in Kathmandu and organised these in Chitwan and Pokhara. He changed our itinerary without hesitation in Kathmandu, as we had seen those sites already and gave us a full day of sight seeing in amazing locations. He organised our flights to Chitwan and back from Pokhara and our driver from Chitwan, who was also excellent.Show more

  Nepal is a fascinating country and the Nepalese are very friendly. We were expecting a few other travellers on the tour, but it was only the two of us with Ras our guide. Because we travelled by public and regional buses, we needed to take only small bags and leave our big suitcases at the Kathmandu. It was fortunate that we had smaller bags to take. Ras is a nice friendly guy, who clearly communicated with us when to leave to catch the buses and took us to the hotels. He was also very informative with the questions we had. Unfortunately there is a "but". A big feature of the tour was the views of the Himalayas and we had some hillside accommodation stops for the views. However there was really bad air pollution wherever we went and we didn't see any Himalayas views. There was also a lot of travelling on poor roads that took a long time made worse by the never ending roadworks. I would recommend some more information about the tour and you need to awareand the we were taking public buses, the need to pack smaller bags.Show more

  We had a great experience in Nepal! There is so much to see in the country and the tour provided us a combination of both guided visits and times to explore on our own which was really nice. From visiting temples and historic sites, to exploring the forests of Chitwan National Park, to sunrise viewing of the Himalayas, all was amazing. Our guide, Raj, was knowledgeable and kind, very gracious, and shared a great deal of information and knowledge. He moved quickly through areas that he knew but also met the pace we wanted to experience the various facets of Nepal with. All in all, we enjoyed Katmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara, and would recommend anyone to visit Nepal and enjoy the beauty of the country.Show more
