Our Kilimanjaro climb was a truly unique and memorable experience. Although we did not have the best weather, the crew took excellent care of us and handled every detail to ensure we stayed warm and dry. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Our guides, Majid and Thomas, were knowledgeable, supportive, and flexible throughout the climb. Our chef, Richard, was outstanding—he prepared delicious and surprisingly elaborate meals each day. We even gave him the nickname “mchawi” (magician)! Majid was like our own personal paparazzi, taking videos and pictures at spots he knew would be memorable. They turned out great! Summit day was hard, but rewarding. The hot ginger tea halfway through was a wonderful treat! Shungu, the tour operator, was incredibly responsive and helpful during the planning process. He made a point to meet with us both before and after the trip to ensure we were prepared and to celebrate with us afterward. We especially appreciated that he is a Tanzanian operator who genuinely cares about his team. We completed the 6-day Machame route, which felt manageable for us in terms of effort and elevation. However, we do have significant mountain climbing experience and were already acclimatized after climbing Mount Kenya the week prior. We saw many others experience varying degrees of altitude sickness, so we would strongly encourage future climbers to trust the acclimatization process and consider speaking with their healthcare provider about preventative options such as acetazolamide (Diamox).Show more

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Safari – warm, professional, and absolutely trustworthy This was the tour I had agreed on in advance with the operator, and I can honestly say: everything worked perfectly and smoothly from start to finish. The airport pickup was already something very special. I arrived as a German woman traveling alone in the middle of the night, and the operator not only came himself to pick me up, but his wife also joined him so that I would feel safe. I found that incredibly kind and thoughtful, and it immediately gave me a very good feeling. Through this operator, I booked a multi-day safari to the following national parks: • Tarangire National Park • Ngorongoro Crater • Lake Manyara National Park • Arusha National Park (including a guided walking safari with a ranger) All the game drives were absolutely wonderful, and I was able to see an incredible variety of animals. Everything was perfectly organized, and it was clear that the operator has a lot of experience and knows exactly where and when to find the best wildlife sightings. I was also very happy with the accommodations. What I especially appreciated was that the operator even recommended upgrading to a better accommodation at a lower price when something became available at short notice. The lodge with a private pool was simply amazing. Overall, everything was very warm, personal, and professional. My needs were not only met but exceeded. I felt well taken care of and completely safe at all times. I can highly recommend this operator, especially for solo female travelers. I would book with him again anytime. It was a wonderful experience! My wife and I climbed it together, We were able to reach the summit with the support of six great friends(2 guide, chef, waiter, 2 porter). Above all, the operator of this tour company, Rasta, is a wonderful man who cares about his family, so I was able to trust him very much. In terms of tour content, the 5-day plan was certainly a tough schedule, so if you have more time, it might be better to go for the 6-day plan. However, the members' first priority was for us to reach the summit, and it was a great experience to have friends to share our success with in an unfamiliar place.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 29th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 29th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Kilimanjaro Safari Experience. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Kilimanjaro Safari Experience will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
