Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
After you arrive in Luang Prabang and get settled at your hotel, you'll head to the National Museum inside the former Royal Palace to look at Lao cultural artifacts. Then it's on to Wat Mai temple before climbing Mount Phousi for views of the gilded stupa and the sunset over the city and Mekong River. Later in the evening, you can browse handmade textiles at the Night Market.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
Your guided tour starts at Wat Sene and moves to Wat Xieng Thong, where you'll see the intricate tree of life mosaic made from colored glass. After that, you'll cruise upstream on the Mekong River through countryside scenery and stop at Pak Ou Caves to walk through two large caverns filled with thousands of Buddha images. Ban Muangkeo village comes next, where you can see how locals make rice wine. In the afternoon, you travel about 30km to Kuang Si Falls, passing through ethnic minority villages along the way. You'll have time to swim in the turquoise pools or hike the forest trails.

Luang Prabang to Oudomxay
After breakfast, you'll board the express train heading to Oudomxay, a region with 23 different ethnic minority groups living there. Once you arrive, a transfer takes you to the jungle resort Namkat Yolapa. After checking in, you do a short trek through the jungle out to Namkat waterfall, where you can spend time at your own pace before heading back to the resort for the night.

Oudomxay
You leave Namkat Yolapa heading toward Pak Khai, traveling past the Nam Pak River, terraced rice fields, and small riverside villages. The trek follows a mountain trail alongside a mountain stream through thick vegetation, and you'll meet local farmers who can tell you about their farming, hunting, and fishing. After roughly 1.5 hours, you reach Ban Phavie, a Khamu village on a hilltop. Lunch happens in the village, then you visit nearby waterfalls for swimming and relaxing if the weather works out. You return to Namkat Yolapa by late afternoon.

Oudomxay to Dien Bien Phu
After breakfast, you head into remote, mountainous Northern Laos toward the Sophoun border region. The route stops at Pak Nam Noi village, which holds a market every 10 days following an ancestral calendar where villagers buy goods from surrounding areas. You can walk around the Khamu village and its temple before crossing the border into Vietnam at Sop Houn (Laos side) or Tay Trang (Vietnam side). The tour ends right at the border.
