Gili was disappointing, the snorkeling was poor due to lack of coral and fish, there was a turtle. OK if you wanted to party. Nusa Penida was good with rugged terrain, bone shaking roads, spectacular beaches and snorkeling. We saw 10 manta rays from the cliff above, much better than Gili. Guides and drivers (Yustus, Tress, Sam, Kade, Koma) were all great, friendly professional. He was extremely accommodating and since it was just the four of us for most of the trip he allowed us to shuffle things around to fit our wants and needs. He is the sweetest and plays an excellent Ukulele! We had everyday filled with adventures. Some were definitely more adventurous than others!! The only suggestion would be better timeliness. Bali time is a real thing 8:30 could really be anywhere from 8:20 to 9:00. The drivers we had were very good. Can’t imagine how they navigate the roads in Nusa Penida. Kuta and Ubud are busy cities and what you would expect, lots of shops and people and cars. The hotel in Kuta was fine and served its purpose. The hotel in Ubud was really nice. Would have preferred to have the extra night in Ubud hotel versus Kuta one. Starting the tour with a two hour Balinese massage is amazing. Highly recommend treating yourself to additional massages when you get to Gili T. The hotel, Scallywags on Gili T was great. The outdoor bathroom was interesting but awesome great location in the heart of the island. Bike riding was a bit scary since most of the bikes need some love and work! Highly recommend adding on horseback riding and the Gili cooking class. Loved both. Nusa Penida hotel was by far the nicest but was near nothing. You can’t walk anywhere. There is a shuttle to get to other restaurants. The pool was fabulous and the food in the restaurant, not the buffet, was amazing. Overall, this was our 6th trip using Tour Radar and I am extremely happy with their coordination of the tours with the companies they partner with and I tell everyone about them! The service has always been top notch.
