Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport and get picked up for the drive to your hotel. After settling in, you'll have the rest of the day to rest and adjust to being in Nepal.

Kathmandu
This morning you'll check out some of Kathmandu's main historical sites. Head to Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square, then walk through the city streets to get a feel for the place. You'll stay another night in Kathmandu and can grab dinner near your hotel.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
Early start for the drive to Pokhara on the Prithvi Highway, a 6 to 7 hour journey through the Western Himalayas. When you arrive, you can either relax at your hotel or take a boat out on Phewa Lake if you have energy left. Stay overnight here.

Pokhara to Jomsom to Kagbeni
You'll fly from Pokhara to Jomsom in about 20 minutes with great views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. From there, trek uphill for 3 hours alongside the Kali Gandaki river until you reach Kagbeni, which sits where two rivers meet and marks the gateway to Upper Mustang.

Kagbeni to Chele
Start trekking toward Upper Mustang through scenic villages. You'll pass through Tangbe with its distinctive white-washed mud and stone houses, then trek to Chhusang over 2 hours. After crossing the Kali Gandaki through a rock tunnel, you'll climb uphill to Chele where Manangi and Tibetan cultural traditions meet.

Chele to Syangbochen
Trek through steep barren terrain alongside a copper red canyon, passing Chortens on a ridge and reaching Samar village. You'll cross a giant gorge and stream, then climb to a 3,800m ridge before descending to Syangbochen for the night.

Syangbochen to Ghami
Hike gently uphill to a 3,770m pass, then descend to Geling village. From there, climb through fields to Nyi La pass at 3,840m. After that, descend to a trail junction and head toward Ghami, a beautiful village of white-washed mud and stone houses under an overhanging cliff.

Ghami to Charang
Trek through the driest part of Mustang on rough terrain until you reach Charang, a large village perched at the top of Charang Chu Canyon. Spend time exploring the medieval fort and red Gompa on the east side, which has some spectacular statues and thangkas inside.

Landmarks Charang Chu Canyon - Day 9
Charang to Lo Manthang
Trek to Lo Manthang, the walled capital of the Kingdom of Lo founded in 1380. You'll pass through Lo-Gekar, Nepal's oldest Gompa. In Lo Manthang, explore the ancient temples and monasteries, check out the periphery of the King's palace, and if you want, guide horses through the valley.

Lo Manthang
Continue exploring Lo Manthang and the area around it. Spend 2 hours at Namgyal Gompa, a hilltop monastery on a ridge with high religious and social significance. Then visit Tingkhar village with its 40 households and Champa Lhakang to see a large Buddha statue and intricate Mandalas.

Lo Manthang to Dhamkar
Leave Lo Manthang on the upper highland trail with great views of Lo Manthang and Charang Valley behind you, and snow-capped mountains in the distance. You'll cross Dhi Pass at 4,100m and reach Dhamkar to stay the night.

Landmarks Dhi Pass - Day 12
Dhamkar to Syangbochen
Hike downhill to Syangbochen with Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains visible the whole way. On your route, pass through Rachen Gompa, a mystical monastery that sits within a rocky cave. You'll stay overnight in Syangbochen.

Syangbochen to Tetang
Trek over steep ridges and hills to reach Tetang, which is the upper village of Chuksang. Located between two hills, this spot provides shelter from the fierce winds that hit the Kali Gandaki valley regularly.

Tetang to Jomsom
On your final trekking day, pass through Jharkot village and visit the local monastery. You'll see the grand Tibetan Herbal Medicine Center and an ancient fortress that used to be a palace. Then descend to Jomsom with views of the Kali Gandaki Valley and Kagbeni Village, and celebrate finishing the trek with your staff.

Jomsom to Pokhara
Fly back to Pokhara in about 20 minutes and spend the rest of the day relaxing. You can go boating on Phewa, Rupa or Begnas Lakes, visit the hilltop monastery, explore caves, shop for souvenirs, or check out the nightlife if you're up for it.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast, travel back to Kathmandu via the Prithvi Highway. You'll have the scenic bus ride one last time to enjoy the mountains and valleys, then you'll reach the capital and part ways from there.

Departure from Kathmandu
Get picked up and transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back home. This ends your Upper Mustang trek and Nepal adventure.
