Domestic flight Izmir to Istanbul is not included. Its cost is 75USD per person. We are adding this in case our customers prefer us to book it when they have extensions in Istanbul. Most of them they issue their international flights from Izmir. In that case the leg price ADB-ISD (Izmir-Istanbul is almost 1/3 of this price). If you let me know the travel date and will you be travelling solo etc. I may quote it accordingly.

Can you advise how strenuous the excursions/tours are? Will be booking with another solo traveller, would it be possible for them to have separate rooms close to each other for the duration of the tour?

The day excursions require to walk slowly 1-2 miles a day. If you have a friend that purchase the same tour for the same period we will can give side by side rooms. It is easy.

Is any domestic flight necessary for this tour that is not included on the package? Or flight between Turkey or Greece?

There is no flight during this trip neither any other hidden transport cost. We are connecting Turkey to Greece with a cruise package which is also included.

Is there single supplement?

Unfortunately solo travelers pay a single supplement and we are not able to match two solos in a double room since pandemic.

Since pandemic we don't match two solos in one room dur to regulations. However it creates a single supplement. I am now adjusting your departure to May 6th 2023 for a single solo traveler. Will I need to apply for a Schengen visa to enter Athens? I am an American citizen residing in Thailand.

As a US citizen you are required to obtain an e-visa via (15 minutes) at the governement web page evisa.gov.tr. To Greece until 90 days you don't need a visa. Our Athens hotels are in the city center and very close the hop-on / hop-off buses station as well as subway.

Do you suggest any vaccinations besides Covid for Turkey, Morroco and the Greek islands?

You mentioned Morocco but it is not included in this trip. Only Turkey and Greece and Greek Islands as well. And you don't need other than Covid vaccine card. In case you don't have it you can also give a PCR test (negative). Latest restrictions can be found at related government web pages. Both countries health standards are OK.

This was a celebratory trip organised for 4 active young OAPs. This is not a tour for those who like a lie in - it is very packed and requires a fair amount of stamina and fitness going up steps and long stretches of time on your feet. The guide for Istanbul was excellent and was very helpful in ensuring we made the most of the city. The guide for the rest of the Turkish tour was very good, but there were a couple of incidents (eg we were supposed to have admission included to the Harem at the Palace which did not happen - no explanation) but overall he was very organised, knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The group expanded from 9 to 22 in the Turkey element of the tour (slightly more than the maximum of 20) which might annoy some, but it didn't change the dynamic or quality of the information received. One hotel was particularly grim, with dirty bathroom and very tired furniture and decor (peeling wall paper). But all the others were up to scratch. Food was very variable in choice and quality at each hotel, all of it acceptable, but we didn't expect (or get) haute cuisine!! We organised our own hot air balloon trip in Cappadocia which was half the cost of that offered by the guide. Be careful if you do the balloon trip and Turkish night as you end up getting up at 0300 (yes in the morning) for balloon flight and then not going to bed until almost midnight after Turkish night. There is not much rest the following day as normal start time to travel/tour onwards. The cruise element is very good and a bit more restful (you can opt out of excursions to some of the Greek Islands if you want). Wifi access is exorbitant!!! The trip to the Acropolis was well worth it and after doing a price and logistics comparison with external companies, quickly realised this was a very fair deal offered - as it turns out there were only 8 of us in the group and the guide was excellent. The constant music on all levels of the ship can be annoying, but if you look carefully, there are little pockets onboard that are less noisy. As non-cruisers, we struggled a bit with the whole tender and disembarking priority hierarchy and this became particularly difficult when we needed to disembark on the final morning as we had to catch early internal flights from Izmir to Istanbul. Fortunately we were able to communicate with the pick up transfer but the crew weren't exactly helpful with conflicting information coming from reception. This was an enjoyable, packed and interesting tour, very smoothly run - the cohort we were touring with were a great group of all ages from a family with teenagers to 80 years old.Show more

We enjoyed seeing a variety of locations in Turkey including Istanbul, Ankara, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, and Izmir. We learned a great deal about the history, culture, and geography of the country. The highlight for us was the hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia; it was a truly mind-blowing and memorable experience, floating over the city and amazing landscaper just as the sun was rising over the mountains. We appreciated that breakfasts and dinners were included. Some of the excursions to historic sights were difficult for some due to hot weather and uneven terrain.   In some hotels there are family rooms that can accommodate 5-6 people. They are usually more expensive comparing to 2 double rooms side by side as they have also a common living rooms like suite rooms. In the cruise ship I can provide a 4 people berth (bunk beds) with no price increase. We are always providing the rooms side by side for the families. Unfortunately children over 12 years old are considered as adult so the premiums calculated are based also on adult prices.

- For any tour departing before May 18th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 18th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Eskapas. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Eskapas will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Eskapas" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.

- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
