You have a full free day in Sorrento where you'll be in town and able to do whatever you'd like. Then for Positano you'll only have a bit of time in the afternoon/evening to explore before getting on a ferry to Minori where you'll be staying for the final night of the tour.

The trip will depart even if we have one fully paid passenger.

Yes, private rooms are absolutely available. A single supplement can be added if you'd prefer not to share a room. This is subject to availability, and I'd be happy to check options for your preferred dates. Our trips are not specifically limited to older women, but we do have a wide age range, and many solo female travellers join it's a very welcoming and comfortable group environment. These trips are generally moderate in activity level. You can expect, Walking tours of cities, Uneven streets, stairs, and some hills, Optional hikes. Overall, you don't need to be highly athletic, but a reasonable level of fitness and comfort with daily walking is important For your travel window, October is actually one of the best months to visit Italy.

What is the level of fitness required for the trip?

Activities like the climb to the summit of Mt Vesuvius and the hike on the Path of the Gods require a certain amount of fitness.

Can you define 'fully vaccinated'?

As of January 1st, we no longer require proof of covid vaccination on our trips. We recommend all passengers consult the local government health site for all other vaccination requirements for entry.

What is the minimum age allowed on the Rome to Amalfi tour?

The Rome to Amalfi tour is open to travellers ages 15 and above.

Yes, the trip includes a Leader-led orientation walk in Naples.

Is there a transfer service available from the airport?

An Arrival Transfer from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) or Ciampino Airport (CIA) to Hotel San Marco can be provided for an additional cost of $85.

Great tour!!! A nice balance of guided transportation, guided tours and free time for exploring and dinner at local restaurants of our choice. Our tour guide was the best tour guide I've ever come across and even helped arrange some extra side tours for the group so we didn't have to join a large group. The only constructive criticism is some of the hotels were a bit outdated with sub par air conditioning, but that could be just the european standard versus the american style hotels we are used to. However, the location of the hotels were perfectly ideal with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and scheduled tours. Also, I didn't see any other "better" options in soem of the areas we stopped. I would recommend this tour highly just for the ease of transportation and guidance, balanced with the freedom to choose our own dining locations to eat dinner.Show more

As value for money, some of the accommodation was below the standard we expected. This was true for us in Rome and Minori. We asked to change our room in Sorrento. The room in Pompei was good. Breakfast in Pompei had a lot of sweet pastries and more savoury options and muesli could be offered. The guide needed to provide suggestions for options in free time. Intrepid could support the guide better be providing available options eg list for WhatApps. Although flexibility is needed, I would have preferred a basic plan of the day eg we were told there would be 3 hours free time only after we arrived at our destination.Show more

Th tour leader and itinerary were excellent well planned. The sampling of activities was varied. Particularly enjoyed the archaeological sites, nature hikes best way to explore the cities and landscape. Location of hotel relative to activities and access to bus and train were fantastic. We ended up with a fantastic group of people making it less of a tour and more of a vaction with friends which was unexpected. I was expecting more of a tour guide like we did at Pompeii to let us more about the history and architecture than expected in Naples and Pompeii but also th coastal cities. Euros/Cash was needed for many common activities which would have been good to know ahead of time I was expecting to use the card. Accommodations were clean and basic but not great so also the breakfast. Sorrento and Amalfi had better hotels. All hotel locations were very good though.
