After a short break and safety checks with the mechanic on the car, our trip could continue after 15-20 minutes. We felt very comfortable with the guide, because she also always asked if everything is ok, e.g. air conditioning is set correctly, whether the stay times at the sights have correct lengths, to set priorities at the sights. The car was very comfortable and you also had especially in the mountains (Transfagarasan road) from the car to take pictures. All hotels were very nice (we booked our tour about 5 months in advance), so we recommend to book the tour as early as possible, so that "Transylvania Discovery Tours" has enough time to book the nice/better hotels for you. Conclusion: we were simply thrilled and who wants to learn more about the country Romania, people, culture, traditions and history, we recommend this tour.   While the tour itself was satisfactory and would have been rated okay to good, other issues were downright bad. The tour was booked only 10 days in advance for a family of 4. Knowing there may not be much choice in available accommodations, they requested two separate rooms and on the more upscale side relative to the area. TourRadar was very accommodating, as was the local tour operator, Transylvania Discover Tours, advising that they would do their best to meet the requests. The accommodations on the first and second nights were of extremely poor quality. Fortunately we were able to find much better accommodations ourselves by going online. And even though accommodations were included in the tour, we found better on our own for several of the nights. We could have endured but that was not the worst of the problems. We were met on the first day of the tour by our driver/guide, Florin who seemed a bit annoyed when he saw our group of 4, 2 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 14. He told us that he would normally have picked us up in a larger car/van but was advised by the local tour operator to use his own car, not quite big enough for 4 additional passengers and their luggage. The luggage was piled up so high, it was impossible to see through the rear window. His driving was reckless, speeding past cars, missing turns, one of us actually had to read map directions while he drove because he didn't know where he was going, and he was our guide. It did not make for a pleasant experience. It was very uncomfortable in the car with the luggage crammed in. One of the bags was lodged so tight, it caused a piece of plastic on the passenger seat to break. The driver was screaming at us, causing my 8year old daughter to cry and upsetting me. He demanded that we pay him €400 to fix the seat or he would not be back to pick us up on the last day of the tour. We felt we had no other options but to pay.
