What is the difference between a private hostel room for two and hotel double room. Do each have their own bathrooms?

A private room in a hostel may or may not have a private bathroom depending on the destination or the hostel availability at the moment. The hotel room will always have a private bathroom. However, the main difference between staying in hostel or hotel is the vibe from the accommodations. Hostels are more informal bustling with energy, mostly chosen by young people/budget travellers. And staying in a hotel has a more relaxed and quiet setting, it´s more traditional and familiar.

I'm disabled and would upgrade to the hotel but how suitable is your tours for disabled people. I can walk but not far.

How much is the deposit for the trip? It looks like American needs visa to enter Brazil. What happens if we run into visa issue? What is your cancellation policy?

The deposit for the trip is 20% of the cost, if you book it more than a month in advance. Yes, american citizend need a visa to enter brazil. You should apply for it if you want to enter the country. It shouldn't cause you any trouble, as far as we know.

we are interested in the 17 day Rio to Santiago but we do not need accommodations in real. Could we start the tour when you are leaving Rio de Janeiro? If so, what is the price please

First Id like to note that our tours are for independet travelers and not group tours. And our tours can be adapted upon choice, so if you want the day tours, the transfers and the buses, without the hotels, we can do it. We will only need you to tell us what services you need. Also, if you want to replace buses for flights, you need to consider that 3 of them are overnight trips, so either the itinerary will be shorter or you have to add nights in the destinations of choice. If you tell us what services you prefer, we can calculate and let you know.

I would like to travel in South America with you. I consider the Trip Rio de Janeiro to Santiago de Chile. I do not speak Spanish/Portuguese but i understood that this should not be really a problem. Before i book the trip, i wanted to check with you which day should be better in your view. Should i book the trip starting on 21 November or 22 November.

Is there an alternative to the bike ride. I am no good at riding a bike.

Yes, we can skip the bike tour and you could have a free day. Or we could replace it with a private Panoramic City Tour.

1 & 2: The overnight buses can be replaced with flights, yes. If you would like us to book them for you, they´ll be quoted as an extra, apart from your trip package. You could also book them by yourself, as you wish. 3: The Mendoza part includes a Half Day Tour to a Winery, yes. They usually start in the morning, that's why it's on the second day, is that okay with you? 4: Would you like us to remove the Santiago Bike Tour or to remove the whole day of the itinerary?

We don't have a maximum number of guests! And yes, we can absolutely arrange a similar itinerary starting in Chile and ending in Rio. If you'd like exactly the same trip in reverse, just let me know and I'll get started on it. If you'd prefer to make any adjustments to the itinerary (such as skipping or adding destinations, changing the pace, etc.), that's also totally possible. We had a fantastic trip, even being on a bus for 31 hours added to the experience. The tours were well organised, fun to be on and good value for money, especially the white water rafting in Argentina. The hostels were basic but comfortable and had there own trips and experiences you could join which we did. The only criticism is that I wouldn't have done the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls, the Brazilian side was a far better experience and enough to see the falls and another day on the other side wasn't needed, replace it with another trip would be my advice. All in all it was a fantastic trip and great value for money. We added a 3 night stay in Manaus in the Amazon on Anaconda island before the trip started, it was a great experience too.Show more

This trip was definitely an experience I wasn't totally prepared for. The accommodation was suitable. Some better than others. El pueblito in Iguazu, Argentina was a highlight. Most day tours I was the only English speaking person. I recommend learning more Spanish to learn and understand more. Most places, as well as taxis and Ubers only accept cash. But ATM's can be hard to find. Do not trust taxi drivers. Especially in Argentina and Chile. I was pleasantly surprised how safe I felt in Rio. Not so much in Chile. Overall, I enjoyed my trip. But will do more homework about each country prior to visiting. I've met some amazing people from all over the world and had some unforgettable times. Just be prepared and ask lots of questions before committing to this tourShow more

Options to upgrade buses to flights are simple and easy. This tour gives you plenty of free days to shape the tour as you want and the tour group are available on WhatsApp should you have any concerns. They were especially helpful when it came to arranging COVID tests before travel between countries. Hostels are decent and not just the cheapest available with most in the Lonely Planet South America book as recommended hostels. A couple of tours were Spanish but all guides spoke English personally to me and were very accomodating.   I walk with a stick and can walk for approx 15 minutes before requiring a rest. However the more I walk the weaker I will become so I would say about an hour a day in total for walking.

  We don't have a maximum number of guests! And yes, we can absolutely arrange a similar itinerary starting in Chile and ending in Rio. Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 16th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 16th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Hi Travel Argentina. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Hi Travel Argentina will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Hi Travel Argentina" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
