Hi Christopher! I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the tours so much. The rafting excursion isn’t for the faint of heart, I’m sure that it was an exciting experience. I understand what you say about Iguazú, while the majority of the falls are on the Argentinian side, and you can experience them there, the Brazilian side has the view of these falls. Thanks for the advice to other travellers!

Can you accommodate more than 6 people? I'm thinking of bringing a group, just in case I have more than 6. Also, is the hostel private room have air conditioned and with private bathroom?

    Accommodation
    Group size
    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

Yes, we can accommodate more than 6 people, so if your group ends up being larger, we can certainly look at options for everyone.

Regarding the air conditioning, I will need to confirm that with the hostels, although most usually have it.

As for the bathroom, if the group is staying together in the same room, it would typically be a private bathroom for the occupants of that room. However, I will also double-check the exact room configuration and get back to you.

    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

      Perfect then!

I'll check and confirm the air conditioning for you. Regarding the bathroom, rest assured that since these are private double rooms, the bathroom will also be private for the guests staying in the room.

      TravelerWritten June 2026

Do you know if the room double private room is air conditioned?

    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

I've checked with the accommodations, and the only hostel that does not have air conditioning is the one in Santiago. However, the 3-star hotel option has it.

If having air conditioning is very important to you, we can certainly look into changing the Santiago accommodation to the 3-star hotel instead.

How much is the 3 star post accommodation for November 24 (1 night)?

    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

The extra night in the 3-star hotel in double room would be USD 63 per person.

    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

I would be happy to prepare a quotation including flights instead of buses. Could you please let me know your preferred travel dates? Flight fares can vary significantly depending on the dates, so I will need this information to prepare an accurate quote.

Also, regarding the accommodation, what type of hotel would you prefer? Would a good 3-star hotel be suitable?

    • P

      Pauline

      TravelerWritten June 2026

We'd like to start this tour on October 31st or November 1st.
Good 3-star hotels would be suitable.

    • HI Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

We have prepared the quote for your tour. I have replaced all buses with flights. The Mendoza-Santiago route is best traveled by bus because is on a beautiful daytime bus that allows you to enjoy the scenery and unique views and it Will be faster and cheeper!

A private room in a hostel may or may not have a private bathroom depending on the destination or the hostel availability at the moment. The hotel room will always have a private bathroom.
However, the main difference between staying in hostel or hotel is the vibe from the accommodations.
Hostels are more informal bustling with energy, mostly chosen by young people/budget travellers.
And staying in a hotel has a more relaxed and quiet setting, it´s more traditional and familiar.

We'd be very happy to check how suitable the tours would be for you. To do so, may I kindly ask a bit more about your mobility, so we can make accurate arrangements with each tour provider?

      • Do you use a wheelchair, or do you walk independently?
      • Approximately how long or how far are you comfortable walking (for example, a few minutes, short distances with breaks, etc.)?
      • Do you require any additional assistance or adaptations?

This will help us review each tour in detail and recommend the best options for you, or suggest alternatives if needed.

I walk with a stick and can walk for approx 15 minutes before requiring a rest. However the more I walk the weaker I will become so I would say about an hour a day in total for walking.

I don't need any other adjustments.

My carer would be with me in case of any issues and to assist.

I'll get in touch with our local operators to review each tour in detail. I want to make sure everything is realistic and comfortable for you.

As soon as I have clear feedback from them, I'll get back to you with precise information so you can decide with confidence.

The deposit for the trip is 20% of the cost, if you book it more than a month in advance. Yes, american citizend need a visa to enter brazil. You should apply for it if you want to enter the country. It shouldn't cause you any trouble, as far as we know.

First Id like to note that our tours are for independet travelers and not group tours. And our tours can be adapted upon choice, so if you want the day tours, the transfers and the buses, without the hotels, we can do it. We will only need you to tell us what services you need. Also, if you want to replace buses for flights, you need to consider that 3 of them are overnight trips, so either the itinerary will be shorter or you have to add nights in the destinations of choice. If you tell us what services you prefer, we can calculate and let you know.

I would like to travel in South America with you. I consider the Trip Rio de Janeiro to Santiago de Chile. I do not speak Spanish/Portuguese but i understood that this should not be really a problem. Before i book the trip, i wanted to check with you which day should be better in your view. Should i book the trip starting on 21 November or 22 November.

Yes, we can skip the bike tour and you could have a free day. Or we could replace it with a private Panoramic City Tour.
