  *Note : the tour we took was personalized and thus not in the list I had to choose form to write this review. However, the following comments touch on the company as a whole, and are thus potentially applicable to any tour they offer.* What promised to be a memorable trip was ruined by mediocre, overpriced and dangerous service. We'd booked an itinerary through northern Vietnam with this company, and as soon as the first two days, not only did we realize the tour guides lacked both knowledge and language skills, the visits were rushed and the included meals were mediocre in quality and insufficient in quantity, but our lives were actually put a risk by the reckless, distracted private drivers the company hired, and by the dangerous state of the cars used, some of which had serious mechanical problems and several warning lights on the whole time. In one of the cars, I noticed the speedometer simply didn't work (the driver did not therefore know his speed), a "low braking power" warning, along with a flashing check engine light. All of this on a winding mountain road with plenty of trafic. Another driver, without us knowing or agreeing, decided to let a cat roam freely in the car as he drove us on the highway for hours, recklessly passing trucks and cars with a curious cat moving between his legs. One of us had to physically pick up the cat and put it in the back. The driver's reaction? Laughter. The driver then actually sold the cat to some random guy while we stopped on the road. None of what precedes is hyperbole, and we have the videos to prove it. All drivers except the last one texted, made personal voice and video calls all the way. These were hours long trips. They barely said a word to us, but had plenty to say to their friends. Utterly unacceptable. Once we notified the company (and showed video and photo evidence to a manager), we got apologies, but then, yet another distracted, reckless, late driver and yet more mediocre food. At that point, we wanted to cancel the whole tour, period. But the company refused, pointing to its cancelation policy and alleging its arrangements with providers were already made. Bitterly, we accepted a modest discount on the price along with promises things would, this time for real, get better for the rest of the trip. And while things thankfully did get better, it was simply too late to save trust. Despite this late improvement, the company had one last trick to pull, on our way to the airport on the very last day. They wanted us to pay for transport to the airport, which was never previously mentioned or agreed. We simply refused, the driver called the company as we waited to get to the terminal, and the company "generously" waived that surprise additional fee. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. There are plenty of others who can deliver good service and actually value their clients' safety and well-being.Show more

  My family and I have all had a wonderful time exploring Northern Vietnam from Hanoi to Sapa and Ha Long Bay. All with excellent tours organised wonderfully by Ha at Crossing Vietnam Tour. I can not recommend her highly enough, Ha was always very helpful and arranged all the tours for an excellent price.   I got this contact from my friend who had a previous experience with Ms Ha. Ms Ha has been very helpful and friendly right from the beginning , graciously accomodating to all my changes before finalising our trip. From the day we arrive till the end of our trip, everything went smoothly. Our hotel in Sapa far exceeds our expectation with good spread of breakfast. The tour guides were all punctual and friendly. And our guide to Halong Bay, Ms Trang ( hopefully I spelt correctly) is an excellent guide with great knowledge and very pro-actively helping us with pictures and taking care of our tickets, giving information thoughout our journey from hotel to Halong Bay, recommending eateries in Hanoi although her scope is only in Halong Bay for us.The meals prepared for us during our stay were also very good. And throughout our stay, Ms Ha has been following up with us daily to make sure that everything is in order and that gave us great comfort and confidence. Highly recommendedShow more

  We had 7 days for north of Vietnam and wanted to see the best. David, our agent, was just perfect suggesting a package including all we liked. We had a very good guide in Hanoi who was so passionate taking us for whole day tour. We visited some very nice museums, enjoyed the street food. Sapa is so nice. Saw people of Tay, Dzao, Hmong wearing their traditional clothes. So beautiful scenery of rice terraces. We did like our Halong tour. Our boat, the Pandora cruise, was so cool. Staff on board, guide, driver were all very profressional. We had no problem with food.All in all, we had great time. We just booked online and do everything as plan. David arranged all transportation (train, cars, bus), hotels, cruise, guides. We had no even small complain. Can only recommend Crossing Vietnam Tour.Show more
