Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Sirimon Gate
You'll drive from Nairobi through Nanyuki Town and reach Sirimon Gate to begin your Mount Kenya adventure. From there, a 4-hour trek takes you up the mountain to Old Moses Hut, where you'll settle in for your first night. The drive to the gate covers the lower elevation approach, then the trekking starts in earnest as you gain altitude and get used to the terrain.

- Day 2
Sirimon to Shiptons Hut
After having breakfast, you'll trek across the west side of the valley, climbing over the ridge before dropping down into Mackinder's Valley over the course of 5 hours. It's a longer day with significant elevation changes, but the scenery shifts as you descend into the valley. By evening you'll reach Shiptons Hut at 4,200 metres/13,780 feet, where you'll spend the night adjusting to the altitude.

Acclimatization at Mount Kenya
This is your acclimatization day, which means lighter activity to help your body adjust to the higher elevation. You'll trek in the morning toward the peak area, passing through Simba Col as you make your way to Austrian Hut at 4,790 metres/15,715 feet. The goal here isn't distance but giving yourself time to acclimate before the more intense climbing days ahead.

Point Lenana and Nelion Peak
An early wake-up call comes at 2 a.m. with tea and biscuits to fuel the morning trek. You'll head to Point Lenana at 4,985 metres/16,355 feet to catch the sunrise and take in the views across the peaks. After coming back down to Austrian Hut for breakfast, you'll prepare for the climb to Nelion Peak at 5,188 metres/17,021 feet, Africa's second highest summit, where you'll stay another night.

- Day 5
Nelion and Batian Peak Technical Climb
The technical climbing starts at 5 a.m. when you head through Lewis Glacier toward Nelion's base. You'll climb Nelion Peak at 5,188 metres/17,021 feet, then cross the challenging Gate of Mist passage to continue climbing to Batian Peak at 5,199 metres/17,057 feet. After reaching the continent's second highest point, you'll make your way back to Nelion and return to Austrian Hut for the night after a demanding but rewarding day.

Descent to Meru Bandas Hut
Following sunrise, you'll abseil down from the peaks and get back to Austrian Hut where breakfast is waiting. From there, the descent begins via the Chogoria Route, taking you down through different elevation zones toward Meru Bandas Hut at 2,950 metres/9,678 feet, where you'll rest overnight after the physical demands of the summit push.

Landmarks Chogoria Route - Day 7
Chogoria to Nairobi
You'll trek through bamboo forests and indigenous woodland as you make your final descent off the mountain. Later in the day, a vehicle transfer takes you through Chogoria Town and back toward Nairobi, arriving in the evening. You'll either be dropped at your hotel or transferred to the airport depending on your onward plans, wrapping up your Mount Kenya expedition.
