The five-day trip took me to another world. As I climbed the Sirmone, I first walked in the shade of the dry forest and the huge trees, there was a kind of silence as if the world had stopped. Arriving at Mackinder's Valley, I saw the night sky so clear that it seemed as if the stars could be caught by the hand. On the way to the summit in the morning, the body was tired but the mind was getting lighter. On the way down I stopped again and again to see the bamboo forest of Chogoria and the deep gorge of Gorges. The guides not only showed the way, but also told the story of the mountain. This experience is not just a mountain climb, but a new identity with oneself.

We climbed via the Chogoria - Sirimon route, which was stunning over 6 days. Our guides (Wilson and Sammy), cook (Peter) and porters (Simon, David and John) were amazing. They took care of our every need, they were very experienced and so knew exactly how to take care of us on our hike. They were so so friendly, happy and we felt very reassured that we were in good hands. We were given more food than we could possibly eat, and it was top notch!
