  • Venice, Florence, Rome: signature (4* hotels) low carbon tour by train reviewer 1
    · June 24th, 2025
First trip to Europe travelling with my 10 year old daughter. Took all the stress and worry away from booking hotels, arranging activities and was Fantastic for learning the trains! Hotels were all lovely. It was hot middle of June, a pool would have been great! Activities were good. Vatican Tour exceeded expectations, as did Pizza and Gelati making in Florence! Venice was out favourite place, the Murano and Burano tour felt too rained though with really only 50 minutes in each island… in reality it was lucky to be 30! If I did it again I’d like 3 hours at Burano to explore, shop and dine. All hotels were fantastic with good breakfast options. Train instructions were Fantastic. As were the trains themselves! We were in the move every second day so 6 days was long enough! We finished our Italy trip off with 8 nights in Sorrentoa where I booked trains and accommodation myself- the Tour Radar experience trained me for this! It’s good for people to get a good understanding of Italy and the trains. Also yours precooked was great and took the worry away of not missing out. Thanks Tour Radar!

I booked the Venice, Florence, Rome: signature (4* hotels) low carbon tour by train package with Meet and Greet Italy through TourRadar. The travel agency was responsive and patient with all of my questions. They arranged all of my hotels, train travel, and some activities in Italy, and everything went seamlessly. The only suggestion I will make is the companies for sightseeing/activities need to make it clear in the directions when a voucher needs to be exchanged for a ticket. Otherwise, I had a fantastic trip and am completely satisfied.

My family and I enjoyed visiting Italy. There were a few hiccups on the way -- one was that the train from Florence to Rome did not complete its destination. We had to take a cab from the station we were left at to get to Rome on time and the second thing was our tour of the Colosseum -- we went on a guided tour but apparently not the one we were supposed to be on. Also it was unclear what to do if trouble arose. We did not have a contact number for the agency.

The High Speed train was good, accommodation was all of a great standard and generally good locations - Rome and Venice were easy walking distance to the train station even with luggage. Venice accommodation was right on the Grande Canal and close to shops, cafes and ferry terminus. Included tours were all good with excellent tour guides.

I liked the fact that it was semi-independent. My issue was basically logistics. I would have liked to have had more info on how to get to the accommodations. For example: when arriving in Venice it would have been helpful to know the different ways of getting to our hotel---bus, train, taxi etc. A little more guidance would have been helpful. As far as accommodations went, all the hotels were great. I would have preferred the hotel in Florence to be closer to the activities. Being on the other side of the Arno river proved to be quite a walk. Someone with small children or a stroller would have had problems.
