  Everything about this trip was planned in every single detail, in a very professional manner, starting with the moment I wrote to Mary from my country to ask her to organize this trip. She provided me all the details I needed, in a very short time after I asked her anything. Having travelled to many countries undertaking multiple activities, this has to be one of the best experiences we have ever had. Mary was instrumental in planning our 7 day Tanzania wildlife trip and arranged everything from airport pickup to drop off. We did the safari in November and it was the best thing that happened during our stay in Tanzania. When we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport we were met and transferred to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha and had a fantastic stay there. The other accommodations we stayed in were also very good and provided an abundance of tasty and varied foods. The following morning we started our safari. Our guide, Roman was the best. He was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, chatty and funny. He took his time to answer all our questions and made sure we saw everything we were interested in seeing. These guys are really some of the best professionals you can deal with if you want to take this trip, and if I was to do it again, I would pick up the same agency.   As someone who has traveled with many companies, I can say Gilmag Safaris has been my favorite one by a long shot! The level of organization by Mary from pick up to drop off has been excellent! Gilmag Safaris is a very personal safari company with local tour consultants that know everything about Tanzania’s points of interest, culture, wildlife and sandy beaches. Mary, the owner and operator selected all excellent lodging and organized a very intimate tour of some amazing game drives and arranged a tour to a local orphanage and village for a few days. Best part? We were able to communicate what we wanted on our own itinerary and Gilmag was able to deliver. It was a very pleasant experience with Gilbert, our tour guide. He made extra effort to ensure we saw everything exciting on this adventure. We even watched as five lionesses stalked an impala. They didn’t get the kill, but came close. This was possible because of our wonderful guide Gilbert. He brought the skills of a big game hunter to the safari. All of us appreciated his sixth sense tracking animals. The vehicle was spotless clean and looked brand-new. Overall: We were impressed with the service and had fun.Show more

  This was our first trip to Africa for our group of 42 people. Our agent from Armenia organized everything. Our safari started in Zanzibar, and then we took a flight to Kilimanjaro. We had an amazing experience that we will never forget. We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Eyasi. The accommodations chosen by Gilmag Safaris were all superb, and a nice variety of styles from lodges to tented camps. Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge was our favourite. We spent two nights here and wished we had more. We were in a convoy of 7 vehicles, each vehicle having an English speaking guide and a Russian translator. Our guides Freddy and Ally were awesome. Thumbs up to Gilmag Safaris for the fabulous trip. We have recommended this company to our friends and most definitely they will be visiting soon. We will also come back.Show more

  We chose Gilmag Safaris on the recommendation of a colleague who had travelled with them in 2018. There are so many companies out there to choose from and it’s hard to know where to start. This was our first safari and first time in Africa and Gilmag Safaris made it near effortless on our part. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure all was as it should be. Upon our arrival to Kilimanjaro airport, a representative (Vivian) from Gilmag Safaris was holding a sign with our names on it and waiting for us to provide transportation to our accommodations in Arusha. She conducted a very thorough briefing, including tipping guideline and what to expect in our safari. All the arrangements were done according to the plan. All the hotels were very good, especially the tented camps and lodges. We were treated to delicious 3 course meals and had great packed lunches. We can't speak highly enough of how amazing everyone was. Our guide, Gilbert was simply outstanding: helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and very hardworking. Most of all, he listened and knew what we did (and did not) want to see each day. Our tour with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes was very interesting and informative. The Hadzabe is a nomadic tribe that speaks 'click' language, a very interesting language!!! In summary, our experience was beyond exceptional, thanks to this outstanding tour company. We would highly recommend using them.Show more

  This was our first time on safari. We were referred to Gilmag Safaris by our friends. Communication with Maguke was easy and we always got rapid response to all our questions. The planning and negotiating with places to stay, eat and tour were stellar. It was 5 stars on about every dimension you could imagine. From our arrival in Tanzania to the last day, our guide, Nickson was excellent. Nickson was the best guide we could've asked for. He knew all of the national parks so well. He went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. We will never forget hunting with the Hadzabe Bushmen. This was an incredible experience. In overall, we all had such a great time. It was an amazing experience! Thank you for everything you did to make our trip so enjoyable and easy. Those many months of pre-planning were so apparent in our daily schedule!Show more

  We had a truly outstanding trip with Gilmag Safaris. Every aspect was absolutely fantastic, from ease of arrangement with the company to the incredible knowledgeable staff. We had a 10 days safari. This was our first safari experience in Africa, and it in deed exceeded our expectations. The best part of our safari was that we had the most knowledgeable guide, Gilbert. He had amazing knowledge of wildlife, and knew habits of the animals. We were here for photography and he knew all the best places to go. This made our work extremely easy. Our safari jeep was in good condition and looked well maintained. All accommodations booked were excellent with Melia Serengeti as the highlight. We highly and unreservedly recommend Gilmag Safaris to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania. This is a topnotch travel outfitter.Show more

The owners of this company were very thoughtful and went out of their way to ensure that we had the best trip. The driver was awesome and did his best to get us close to animals.   Gilmag Safaris was fantastic from start to finish. Emails were attended to promptly and on time. Our inquiries were handled in a professional and friendly manner. The booking office was very flexible in creating an experience that worked well our group. On our arrival day, we were met by our guide and the owner (Mary) of the company who were already waiting for us at the airport. We were treated like royals. We liked the hotel we were booked in (The African Tulip), where briefing about our safari was conducted. We were asked what we were hoping to see. Gilbert made sure we saw all that and much more. The safari itself was what we hoped for. Gilbert was extremely knowledgeable and professional. We focused on Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. We were well taken care of by everyone we encountered and everything was better than we expected. We will never forget the people of Tanzania and the great worry-free time we had with Gilmag Safaris.
