  I took the 3 day tour from Rome to stay in Sorrento for 2 nights, in January 2025. Tuesday to For going to Pompeii, I was collected from my hotel in a taxi and taken to a meeting point, where everyone hung around until the bus a arrived. It's a long distance in the bus, which was full of people from everywhere. The guide at Pompeii was excellent. Then I was taken in another taxi to Sorrento. It sounds like a lot of transfering but I can see how it works. I had door-to-door service. The accommodation in Sorrento was clearly 3* but I received the best of Italian personal service and attention. During January there is no Capri trip, and this time there was no Napoli either. Also I had signed up for 4* accommodation but I was given 3*. So I had, included, a tour on the Wednesday to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, which was quite a surprise and very enjoyable. It involved 6 of us (we didn't know each-other) in a big taxi. The driver spoke excellent English. Sorrento is ok, so it was exciting to visit another 3 towns along such a spectacular coastline. Returning to Rome, in reverse, there was the same arrangement with bus and taxis, but it was all so well managed that it wasn't a problem. Rome seems very disorganised compared to this Tourradar trip !Show more

  Overall, it was a very good trip, bordering excellent. First with the excellent aspects. The hotel in Sorrento, Grand Hotel Vesuvio, was first class and included very good breakfast and dinner meals. The view and pool were also great and top notch. Though it was a drive up the hill, it was worth it. The guides in Pompeii and Capri were also very good, offering much information. Always feel that the most information is the best, so I understand what I'm looking at. The drives between Rome, Naples and Sorrento could have used a little more guide chat, but what was provided was interesting. Would have liked to learn a little more about Sorrento, in my case the Allied battles there, and anything that had to do with its history. Know the Greeks and Romans were there, and could see defenses against Turkish or North African pirates, but heard no discussion of that. I have to commend Eloisa at Gray Line/I Love Rome/Cassini Tours for being very flexible with my trip and allowing me to rejoin the tour back up to Rome, after spending 2 extra days in Sorrento on my own.   not worth the money, our tour was sold off two two different agencies and there should have been a price reduction...
  not worth the money, our tour was sold off two two different agencies and there should have been a price reduction for the Capri tour portion that was not available. We were offered the same Capri tour that should have been part of the package for an additional $330 by the new company! Also, our return to Rome was dependent on another tour that ended in Pompeii by the end of the day, a waste of time, we ended taking the train back on our own to Rome to maximize our time. You can do the same package for a lot less independently. Very disappointed.Show more

  Was under the impression that Amalfi coast was included in the original itinerary. Adding $50/person wasn’t terribly expensive but the driver did rush us around a lot the day we did Amalfi coast. And all the included meals were very poor except for the hotel breakfast.Show more
