  The tour is immersive to get in contact with local people and culture and it is an amazing chance to interact with the elephants in a respecting way. The experience was incredible, we spent some time with four big elephants which were very curious and always hungry! The mahouts were encouraging and the volunteering staff very welcoming and kind: our coordinator Pradeep was the best! He and the driver Totaram were willing to help us in every way. We met and spend an amazing time also with another volunteer and the guesthouse family and all of them were very helpful and sweet! We would like to come back again in the future.Show more

  It is a fantastic experience if you want to know how a family owning an elephant live and work. Take note that the “mahut” (elephant guards) live constantly with the elephants as a member of the family and it is an honor to them to have the opportunity to take care of the elephant and show that to foreigners. This is their way of life and as a foreigner you should respect their custom with an open mind. ”The tour operator is constantly in touch with you solving any doubt or question you may have before and during your stay. The afternoon tours around the city are fantastic, the guest house owner attention is outstanding and they try to adapt to your needs as much as possible. I would recommend this tour and elephant experience to anyone who wants to stay a short three days in Jaipur , making sure they won’t miss a single thing about culture and tradition.Show more

  The elephant sanctuary program straight up isn’t worth the money. They make you pay a crazy price which when I booked I thought was great but after talking to locals in jaipur they said I have payed 5 times to much. When it comes to working you are with the elephants for 2 or 3 hours a day which is ridiculous and about half that time you are standing around doing nothing. On the first day of being there there weren’t even any elephants in the sanctuary and there is poor communication and coordination between the people in charge with the taxi driver being late in multiple occasions. As someone who is solo travelling around India highly recommend to avoid something like this because it’s a waste of money and quite simply a scam for a supposed non profit organisation. On top of this I had to pay for extra bits such as water wifi and washing which wasn’t included in the original price.Show more

  So you are caring for working elephants that are chained when not working.You do get up close and personal with them...
  So you are caring for working elephants that are chained when not working.You do get up close and personal with them but it’s a little heart breaking. Accommodation is as expected but the food was totally disappointing. We eat street food and love it in India. The tours of Jaipur were great with Toto our fab tuk tuk driver.Show more

  Hello Fiona, We are sorry for your disappointment about the elephants and Accommodation. The food provide at the host family accommodation house are the same meals which family make for them. Our past volunteers have a good time and specially they loved the food served by the family. It's always be tough after coming from 5 Star Hotel ( Marriot ) and expect to have same meals at home stay accomodation. We will do our best to improve things....

  We had a fantastic time with the elephants, helping to take care of them and make chapati for them. The programme is well organised, and the staff were lovely. The 5am tuk tuk ride to work was fun, even with the crazy traffic in India!! The host family we stayed with were very welcoming and the meals were lovely. The sightseeing tours in the tuk tuk in the afternoon were very informative and we had plenty of time to visit the forts and take photos. ElaineShow more
