Their knowledge of the area is unmatched and the tour guides Ray & Paola were knowledgable and accessible. The driving was would using a modern, large, comfortable people carrier. The tour was delivered across three days and included Vallecito, Laguna Tuyactu and Tatio Geysers. The decision to pre-book the tours ahead of time instead of doing it once in San Pedro de Atacama was the correct one given the need for peace of mind during the peak travel season. I would recommend Chileroads to any individual or group looking for knowledgable, secure, local expertise. We recommend to arrive at Calama Airport no later that 5:00pm. Guides will be happy with U$D 8-10 per day by the end of the tour. It is not mandatory; it depends on the caliber of services.

Would you suggest I just overnight in Santiago on March 16 and travel to Calama on March 17 with arrival at Calama at 1400 hrs (2pm) to start the 4 day tours?
