  There were many areas that could be improved. The Peles Castle that we were taken to - on a Monday was not closed. Should have been taken there another day when it was open for us to tour. We had no time for lunch on 2 days. No food between 7:30 AM and 9 PM Almost always we did not leave at the appointed time. We were told bus would leave at 9 AM but the bus did not arrive until 9:25 and we departed at 9:40. Another day we departed the hotel late at 9:55 in the morning and did not arrive at the hotel that night until 9:10 PM. There was a lot of confusion with the 2 busses especially leaving for the city tour in Bucharest. Bucharest was the most disappointing stop. There was a lot of confusion leaving the hotel and it took about 45 minutes to resolve. There was no free time and the city tour was terrible. All it amounted to was seeing the parliament building from across the street and being told it is the heaviest building in the world. The itinerary said visit to parliament. That did not happen. The last 2 days going into Belgrade the buses were totally full. Every seat taken including 5 people sitting across the last row in back. My hotel room in Timisoara had no windows. My hotel room in Belgrade had only 1 bath towel. No face towel. The TV did not work. There was no glass to drink water. The air conditioning was not controlled in the room so it was blowing cold. The shower water was not hot. The hotel was not close to city center. I know a lot of the other travelers were very upset with the tour. Not what we expected.Show more

  The tour was well balanced. Hotels were of good standard overall some quite far from the center, but others very well located. The tour was mainly oriented to Spanish-speaking tourists and English ones had a very poor speaking guide. Had I not the possibility to understand Spanish I wouldn’t have had a chance.Show more

  Content was good. Hotels were generally of a good to high standard. The English-speaking local guides provided in Bucharest and Belgrade were good. The bad bits: the English-speaking group (average of 6 to 7 people) was a minority compared to the Spanish-speaking group (30+). We all travelled together in a big bus. The Spanish-speaking tour leader was obviously the senior person because she did all the organisation. The English-speaking tour leader had a subordinate role and he was lacking in organisation and communication skills. There were times when we had to ask the Spanish travellers to translate important information announced in Spanish and not repeated in English (eg. what time to be ready the next morning, what time to get back to the bus after free time, in which direction are the eating places etc). Additionally the English-speaking tour leader has a slow, laborious and too soft speaking style (in short, mumbling), which was totally unsuited to the dissemination of information via a microphone. While we could make out most of what he was saying when face to face, he was virtually incomprehensible when he was speaking through a mike. Given that we sat through many very long discourses given out by the Spanish-speaking tour leader while in the bus (who spoke in a clear and loud voice and we heard every word but obviously did not understand a single one), it is hard not to feel a little bit cheated.Show more

  *** Tour was sold as an English-speaking tour ***** I was a solo traveler on what I was under the impression as an English-speaking tour. From the day I arrived on the tour, I was introduced to my guide who was fantastic and by no means the score given has anything to do with the service provided by her!!! When I realized that I was the only English-speaking Traveller on the tour I was a little disheartened as for me I've made many wonderful friends on previous tours, and I thought this would be the same. But I was on the bus with 26 Spanish speaking tourist that spoke very little or no English at all. The times I really felt I was travelling alone was mostly around the group activities and meals out. At the group meals or even in the "free time" periods where most had formed friendships during the tour, I was like the leper that no one wanted to sit with as I didn't speak Spanish. My English guide was amazing and went beyond her job to try and make me feel welcome but it's just not the same as being on a tour where you have the opportunity to build friendships and experiences together. I would urge anyone traveling solo, ask questions as you could get stuck on a non-English tour like me. I wish I asked more around like how many English Speaking people are on the tour. For me it was more about making a sale rather than customer satisfaction!!!Show more
