Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
Start the morning with breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, then connect with your driver guide for a briefing about the day ahead. You'll head to the Kigali Genocide Museum to pay your respects to those who were lost during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. From there, it's about a 2.5 hour drive northwest through rolling hills and lively market towns to reach Volcanoes National Park, the area where Dian Fossey conducted her groundbreaking mountain gorilla research. Settle into your accommodation for the night.

- Day 2
Volcanoes National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, you'll transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for your trekking briefing. Then it's time to hike into the rainforest where you'll spend roughly an hour watching a mountain gorilla troop up close. Each troop has its own dedicated 24-hour guard, so your ranger will already know where they're located. Following this trek, you'll transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda for the night.

- Day 3
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Start early with breakfast, then head to the ranger station for your Uganda gorilla trekking briefing covering guidelines for interacting safely with the animals. A senior ranger will guide you as you hike into the forest to locate gorillas. Once you find them, you'll have about one hour to observe from no closer than 10 meters away. After the trek, return to your lodge for the evening.

Have a relaxed breakfast before transferring back to Kigali, which brings your Rwanda Uganda Gorilla Trekking tour to a close. Your driver guide will drop you at your chosen location, whether that's your hotel or the airport, and the timing will work with your departure plans.
