    Tour Details
    • Crooked CompassOperatorWritten January 2023

Our Caucasus tour is graded as moderate on our website because of those two walking days and also because in certain regions of Georgia (the Svaneti), facilities are limited - shared bathrooms, basic guesthouse accom. A regular level of fitness is required for the trip and if one of our guests wants to opt out of the trekking, this is no problem and we can accommodate this. We also manage expectations that the drive to the Svaneti is a long one. Generally in Georgia apart from service stations, there are no bathroom facilities if you need a break on long drive days - the facilities that are available at service stations and describing these toilets as unhygenic does not even start to explain the experience - another reason for the moderate grading.
