If other travellers have signed up for the same departure date, the tour will proceed as a group tour. The additional night in Colombo will be USD 115, Local Payment, inclusive of the hotel stay.

Will a driver pick me up from the airport in Colombo and return me regardless of my arrival and departure times, or do I have to travel to the city you have specified on my own?

Yes, if your arrival and departure dates are the same as the tour start and end dates, we can arrange your airport pickup and drop-off accordingly as a special service. If you arrive earlier or depart later than the tour dates, we can also arrange pre-tour or post-tour accommodation near the airport, including transfers, at an additional cost.

We would be arriving in Colombo the night before the tour starts. Would we be able to get picked up from our hotel or do we have to go back to the airport?

We operate our group tour with daily departures. If other travellers are booked for the same departure date, the tour will proceed as a group tour. Regarding accommodation, your room will be private. We do not normally place unrelated solo travellers together in the same room. Guests travelling together, such as family members or friends, can share rooms according to their booking preference. As a solo traveller, a single-room supplement will apply, especially as this is during the peak season. Also, if no other travellers sign up for your departure date, we will still operate the tour and complimentary upgrade you to a private tour at no additional tour cost.

Is it possible to adjust the itinerary to include Pidurangala Rock, World's End Hike, or Sinharaja Rainforest? Can I book the 8 day tour and add additional days for a fee, or get a quote for 10 day and 12 day options that include these stops?

This tour was our first introduction to Sri Lanka and has left us with many happy memories. While the tour itself was packed with activities and experiences we never felt rushed or pressured. Our guide and driver Nilanther did everything he could to ensure we made the most of our time and the small group enabled us to be flexible within the time we spent at different sites. We were well cared for throughout our journey and benefited greatly from Nilanther's guidance and information. We enjoyed great food throughout the tour and while some accommodation was tired and needing attention, we were always comfortable. Overall this was a great introduction to Sri Lanka and would highly recommend it for travellers whose focus is on experiencing the country and culture, rather than having luxury accommodation. The additional activities were essential to the experience, and while reasonably priced, travellers should be prepared for these additional costs, in addition to tipping.Show more

Diverse, personal and flexible, we particularly enjoyed the safari inclusions, the train experience, the guide's never-failing positivity, the varied landscapes and the small size of the tour group. Be prepared that many of the activities require additional payments and that some of the hotels are simple, rather than luxurious. The inclusion of the rest day near the end of the tour was well timed and our guide, Nilantha, was beyond helpful throughout the eight days.Show more

We made a few changes to the 'standard' itinerary to suit our preferences and Beauty Lanka were very accommodating and responsive to our requests. The tour itself was an amazing experience, combining wildlife tours while also learning of Sri Lankan culture. Hotels and food options were also excellent. Our guide for the tour, Nilantha, was absolutely fantastic. He took care of all of our needs and allowed us to modify the itinerary as we desired along route. Hearing from local guides gave us a much broader experience on the tour and we very much hope to visit this part of the world again in the future.Show more

The tour and our guide Asanka were great, but the accommodations left something to be desired. I wasn't expecting high-end hotels, but I did expect running hot water and towels that were not shredded. Two of the hotels were without hot water, and Sky Haven was simply not ready for guests. The damp towels were a turnoff, and I had to trim the multitude of shreds from the towels before I could use them. Meanwhile, the temperature was chilly in the mountains, but the hotel has no heat. An electric space heater is available for an additional fee! And, although the hotel has a functioning kitchen, not even coffee/tea was offered in the morning. Instead, we were taken to a completely different property for breakfast. We had originally booked this visit for last December, but we postponed it due to the super typhoon that hit the island the week prior to our intended visit. Beauty Lanka did not want to postpone and assured us that everything was fine and the tour could continue. When we insisted on postponing, they charged us a rebooking fee. While we were there this month, we saw extensive damage in the mountains from mudslides and such that had blocked roads and would have made our visit impossible last December. I do not believe that Beauty Lanka was honest with us about conditions following the typhoon, and I believe that charging us to postpone was unfair. Once again, Asanka was excellent! He truly made the experience great for us.Show more

We had an amazing time in Sri Lanka and really enjoyed exploring the country. Our tour guide, Kanishka, was punctual, reliable, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We always felt safe on the road, and his knowledge of the country was very helpful throughout the trip. The tour also covers many of Sri Lanka’s popular tourist attractions, so it’s a great option if you want to see a lot in a short amount of time. However, there were a couple of things that could be improved. Our hotel was changed at the last minute on two consecutive days. On one occasion, we were told about the change while we were already on our way to the hotel, and on another, we only found out after arriving. This was quite stressful and inconvenient. We also had several shopping stops, including tea, herbal products, and clothing. Unfortunately, we felt quite pressured to make purchases. Even when we did buy something, the staff sometimes reacted as if it wasn’t enough, giving us a visibly disappointed expression and making comments that made us feel like we should buy more. We understand that shopping stops maybe part of the tour, but the pressure to buy things made us feel uncomfortable and awkward, and it took away from the enjoyment of the experience. With better communication about hotel changes and a more relaxed approach to shopping stops, the tour would have been an even better experience.Show more
