No, we do not close during the New Year period. We operate tours throughout the year, including the end of December and New Year. The departure dates after 11 December are currently not published in the system yet. We can certainly arrange a tour starting around 28 December 2026.

as a solo traveler can you advise please if there is a minimum number for this trip to run

There is no minimum number of travelers required for this tour. Even if you are the only traveler, we can arrange the tour for one person. For a solo booking, the tour will be operated as a completely private tour, with a private vehicle and driver for your journey. The applicable private-tour upgrade will be included in the quotation.

This tour shows a base price of $430 per person, however when going to confirm dates in reverts back to the pre discount price of $558 plus any high season surcharge. I have compared this to the other tours, which hold the discount prices for the same dates.

The pricing of $430USD is the prices starting from, however it also depends on which accommodation type you would like as well. For the 29th August 2026 departure date, that pricing refers to a triple room (this works out as US $410 per person) or 2 double rooms which is for 4 passengers(this works out as US $439 per person).

We had an amazing time in Sri Lanka and really enjoyed exploring the country. Our tour guide, Kanishka, was punctual, reliable, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We always felt safe on the road, and his knowledge of the country was very helpful throughout the trip. The tour also covers many of Sri Lanka’s popular tourist attractions, so it’s a great option if you want to see a lot in a short amount of time. However, there were a couple of things that could be improved. Our hotel was changed at the last minute on two consecutive days. On one occasion, we were told about the change while we were already on our way to the hotel, and on another, we only found out after arriving. This was quite stressful and inconvenient. We also had several shopping stops, including tea, herbal products, and clothing. Unfortunately, we felt quite pressured to make purchases. Even when we did buy something, the staff sometimes reacted as if it wasn’t enough, giving us a visibly disappointed expression and making comments that made us feel like we should buy more. We understand that shopping stops maybe part of the tour, but the pressure to buy things made us feel uncomfortable and awkward, and it took away from the enjoyment of the experience. With better communication about hotel changes and a more relaxed approach to shopping stops, the tour would have been an even better experience.Show more

We had a great guide, Janaka, who was very knowledgable on the history, religion & politics, helpful and a great driver in "difficult" traffic. The tour went smoothly with a variety of accommodation , mainly 4 & 5 star. We particularly enjoyed our 2 safaris, seeing elephants, leopards, peacocks, mongoose...The tea plantation and Royal Spice & Herb garden visits were great.Show more

I always say no expectations, no disappointment. A supposedly solo trip (as usual) turned out to be a party of 3. This was a planned trip, with a driver taking us to places I wanted to "take a look at" and ask the driver to take us to places where there is history and not in the itinerary of a package tour. Dambulla -it has a much much smaller caved-in temple than Mogao Cave in Xinjiang. Sigiriya - if you want to leave at 5 am to climb 1200 steps Sigiriya Rock to look at a sunrise, go for it. Or you can sleep for another 2 hours before you start the day. Kandy - if you dont mind the crowd, and only taking a glimpse of the Buddha's Tooth Relic, go for it. Nuwara Eliya - we learned a bit of the process of tea, it's quite educational. You might have a chance to pick the leaves; we didnt because it was raining. We've seen whales in Oregon so we didnt do it but it would be an amazing experience if you've never seen a whale, especially in Asia. Riding in a bullock-cart was quite an experience. (the animals are quite well fed and taken care of, so no worry animal lovers). Food..... I know you're waiting for it. We had Kuttu (prata like texture cut into strips) every day for 6 days. Other food like rice, curry, vegetables, etc are similar to Indian food but regional; it's quite soothing and pleasant. A plate of any of the above items is about USD 8-12, not cheap regionally speaking. We went to a few villages and we couldnt find any Sri Lankan Chilli crab! According to the driver, we wont find any because the villagers wont be able to afford seafood. So he took us to a restaurant when we arrived in Colombo. Finally, we got to try the famous dish....700grams per crab is USD 48 !!! And this wrapped up our trip in Sri Lanka. One final thought: we encountered many elderly people still skillfully working with their hands. And more importantly, there's still a good number of young men following their trades. They might not be educated but they speak pretty good English, hard working and are happy when there's food on the table. so lets count our blessing.Show more

The splendour of Sri Lanka tour by Beauty LankaTravels offers a fairly comprehensive mix of sites and cultural experiences, at a budget friendly price point. It is an excellent first introduction to Sri Lanka. Tourism is a major GDP/economic driver in Sri Lanka and the government has invested in the industry, training and certifying tour guides and businesses, ensuring tourists are provided high quality experiences that promote the country further. For example the spice and herbal garden with ayurvedic demos, the gem market and the tea factory on the tour were all government certified, ensuring quality experiences that weren’t accompanied by the high pressure sales tactics that are often experienced during such excursions. Our guide Kanishka (a Govt. certified guide) was outstanding, he was passionate about sharing the history and culture of Sri Lanka and the significance of the sites visited. Nothing was too much trouble, be that requests to change the itinerary or having to continually answer questions ranging far beyond the tour. As both our driver and guide Kanisha proved exemplary, he communicated plans clearly, was punctual, respectful and demonstrated great humour, as well as proving to be a calm hand at the wheel. He remained flexible and adaptable responding to our changing plans by making suggestions for activities not on the itinerary and accommodated last minute requests to sample local cuisine or stop at businesses on route. Having read several reviews regarding the tour I surmised that the accommodation would likely be underwhelming, so I would have liked to have upgraded as I have done on several other tours. Having booked via TourRadar I did not receive any details regarding the accommodation until late or get any opportunity to upgrade. To be fair to Beauty Lanka Travels and their selection of stays, these locations were rated highly on Tripadvisor and other sites, but they fell short of what I would like, expect (and be prepared to pay more for). Near to the start of the tour, I requested a breakdown of the entrance fees and itinerary from Beauty Lanka Travels so that I wouldn’t be caught short, as Sri Lankans still prefer to operate on cash rather than card. I cannot fault the promptness nor the completeness of their response. Given how efficient their communication had been, my only regret is that I hadn’t contacted the team directly to arrange for an upgrade to the accommodation as I am sure they could have provided a list of 4 and 5 star options for me to choose from making it a perfect trip.Show more

This was one of the most amazing experiences we have ever had. Firstly, our tour guide Jaya made us feel very safe and comfortable. He would always inform us about the customs, the culture, tourist traps and what we should or shouldn't do. He customized the tour according to our needs and wants, we skipped whatever we wanted to and moved things around if possible (for example we will get to release turtles and watch the hatching in the evening when it usually happens, even though normally this is a daytime activity). He kept the car clean, made sure we were well hydrated and got us some fruits and snacks. We are so happy to have had him as our guide. Secondly, the country is beautiful and our activities were perfect. Many animal experiences, so much lush green scenery, lovely temples and cultural activities, great food and people. Even though we traveled at the beginning of the Yala monsoon season, we barely got any rain and got to do all of our activities with sunny skies which is always a plus for us. We didn't have any issues finding food for our taste, breakfast was included and satisfactory. All of the hotel staff and safari guides were welcoming and friendly. Sri Lanka is a must do and we are very glad we chose this tour for the week holiday we had. A lot of the big "must see" activities were included. Elephant and crocodile safaris were exceptional. Snake farm and turtles will be once in a lifetime experiences. Overall we are super happy and content, we definitely got more than our money's worth and we are very grateful to both Jaya and the company for making Sri Lanka unforgettable. Thank you.Show more

We are looking at a tour at the end of Dec, departing around the 28th Dec. But I can see now that the last Dec date is 11th? do you close across NYE?

  No, we do not close during the New Year period. We operate tours throughout the year, including the end of December and New Year. The departure dates after 11 December are currently not published in the system yet. We can certainly arrange a tour starting around 28 December 2026.

  There is no minimum number of travelers required for this tour. Even if you are the only traveler, we can arrange the tour for one person.
  
  For a solo booking, the tour will be operated as a completely private tour, with a private vehicle and driver for your journey. The applicable private-tour upgrade will be included in the quotation.

This tour shows a base price of $430 per person, however when going to confirm dates in reverts back to the pre discount price of $558 plus any high season surcharge. I have compared this to the other tours, which hold the discount prices for the same dates.

  The pricing of $430USD is the prices starting from, however it also depends on which accommodation type you would like as well. For the 29th August 2026 departure date, that pricing refers to a triple room (this works out as US $410 per person) or 2 double rooms which is for 4 passengers(this works out as US $439 per person).

  When it comes to how far in advance you should book, this really depends on when you would like to travel to Sri Lanka. For busier seasons (like December–March and around major holidays), we highly recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred dates and arrangements. For off-peak periods, you may have a bit more flexibility, but securing your spot in advance is always a good idea.
  
  This particular adventure is available to be booked every day, which gives you fantastic flexibility to choose the dates that work best for you. If you would like to upgrade to a private adventure, this is absolutely possible and would incur an additional fee of USD $50 per traveler.

Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before November 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Beauty Lanka Travels. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Beauty Lanka Travels will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
