We had a really good experience. Our tour guide Fred was very attentive and helpful. We lucked out as there were only 10 people in our group so it was very personal and we were able to get to know the other tourists well.

A few too many Temples and Shrines and not enough contact with everyday life, city and rural/country. Great group to travel with and an excellent tour guide. OK travelling solo, except the additional cost. Optional extras always worth participating in and paying for.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotels on this tour. The itinerary mentioned 3-star accommodations, but at least two of the hotels were actually 4-star, with great reviews and perfect locations. That said, the hotel rooms in Japan are quite small — we were aware of this before the trip, but it was still a bit of a shock once we arrived. Our guide, Yoyo, provided excellent service throughout the 8 days. All the attractions were thoughtfully chosen, and every moment felt worthwhile. The bus driver also did a fantastic job, giving us a smooth and comfortable ride across Japan. I’m so glad I chose to experience Japan with Stunning Tours!

Our recent Japan tour was absolutely wonderful! We visited Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, and the charming Shirakawa-go village — each stop was unique and unforgettable. The itinerary was well-organized, the hotels were comfortable, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Shirakawa-go was the highlight for us — such a beautiful, peaceful place that truly captured the spirit of Japan. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the best of Japan!

This was my first time in Japan. I enjoyed the sites we visited, particularly Shirakawa-go and the mountainous areas. The hotels were excellent. However, I was hoping to learn more about the Japanese way of life, culture and food. Although our guide had lived in Japan for 30 years, she was not Japanese and did not explain as much about Japanese life as I would have liked. She did not comment on the things we happened to pass. We had a group of 17 in a good 20-seater bus. I was disappointed the guide made little attempt to introduce us early on, but happy we all got along well together.

We joined the 8-night Japan tour as a family of three and had a wonderful experience. The itinerary was well planned, covering so many amazing places across Japan. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the journey enjoyable, while the driver provided a smooth and safe ride throughout. The 3-star hotels were comfortable and clean, and each location gave us easy access to explore. Overall, this tour gave us beautiful memories as a family, and we truly appreciated every stop along the way. Highly recommended!

Our family of four had a wonderful time on the 7-night Japan tour! The itinerary was well planned and gave us the chance to see so many highlights, including Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, and the beautiful UNESCO site Shirakawago. The 3-star hotels were comfortable and conveniently located, making it easy for us to explore. Everything was well organized, and the balance of sightseeing and free time worked perfectly for our family. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the best of Japan in just over a week!

A mediocre tour filled with hours of dead time. We had the choice of a "free day" or $275 person for Hiroshima and some really crappy tourist island. The first hotel was very good, but they went downhill fast. The Tokyo hotel was poor. Our guide was very good, but look for a different tour company.

    • Stunning ToursOperatorWritten September 2025

We can certainly provide the extra night hotels. But honestly our rates aren't good for individual hotel bookings. I would recommend booking with the hotels directly. I will send out the confirmed hotels around 1 month before the departure date. While the airport transfers aren't included, the first night hotel is Star Gate Hotel Kansai which is only one station away from the airport by train and we will send out detailed transfer directions. The last hotel is Tokyo won't be close to the airport but we will send out the instructions as well. Our tours only require medium amount of walking. The majority of our guests are in there 65~75 years old so the pace should be comfortable. Here are the weather in the general areas now and in late October: Now: Expect warmer, humid, and stormy conditions—rain gear is essential. Late October: Weather is typically more stable, perfect for sightseeing, with mild, crisp days and cool evenings—pack layers, especially if heading up Fuji.
