    Asked on November 26th, 2025

Could you send me photos or describe what a private room for two people is like? Could you please tell me how the food service works? Is there a restaurant at the hotel for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and are they charged there at the hotel? Or how do guests handle their meals? Could you tell me if the Northern Lights tour involves a short or long hike to find them? Or do they simply arrive by transport to the Aurora Center and see them easily from there? Is the viewing done from the teepees shown in the photos? Finally, what activities can they do on the third free day?

For this package, we offer accommodation at the Sternwheeler Hotel in Whitehorse. You will find photos attached, and the couple can choose between a room with 1 king bed or 2 queen beds. Meals are not included in the package, as there are many great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner just around the corner or within a 2-block walk. There is no hiking involved in the Aurora Viewing tour — only a short walk from the parking lot to our cabin, yurts, and teepees. They are welcome to take photos from the teepees and with the teepees. They may also select any available day tours upon arrival if they wish to add more activities to their stay.

      Erin

      TravelerWritten November 2025

Would it be the same hotel in this new dates, correct? The Sternwheeler Hotel in Whitehorse. The activities they'd like to know if they're available for the free day are snowmobiling, dogsledding, and snowshoeing. Could you tell me if they can be done on those dates and what the price is for each, please? And if they want to rent winter clothing for those days, how can they do that? And one last question: when they're taken at night to see the Northern Lights, do you provide any hot drinks and snacks to make the Aurora viewing even more enjoyable? Or can they buy them there? And around what time do they return to the hotel to sleep?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten November 2025

Yes, it would be the same hotel and itinerary with the updated dates. Kindly note that they would not be able to do all the activities they are interested in on this program, they would need an extra full free day to take the 3 tours. We only have availability for Snowmobiling and Snowshoeing, the Dog Sledding tour is sold our, we are sorry for the inconvenience. We can add the rental clothing directly on this platform or they can rent it directly on site, when they arrive to Whitehorse. They'll find a cozy cabin and heated yurts where they can warm up while enjoying hot drinks and snacks that are provided. They come back to their hotel at around 3:45 am.

Do you consider it a good time to hunt auroras at the end of February or the beginning of March?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten May 2025

The Northern Lights are possible to see in March. This year, March and April were really good for sightseeing and most nights we were able to see the lights, except cloudy and snowy nights. We recommend beginnings of March as it is not too cold, and you can still do winter activities like snowmobiling and Dog Sledding.
