As us citizen do we have to have a visa to travel to spain, portugal and morocco

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten August 2022

No, if you will cancel the booking, terms and conditions may apply yet before cancelling the booking you have the option to put it in a future travel credit.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten August 2022

Yes. You will have you free time on Day 7, 11, 12, 13 and 14.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten August 2022

Travelling with Trafalgar entitles each guest to travel with one suitcase not exceeding 23kg (50lbs) in weight, with the dimensions of 76cm x 46cm x 25cm (30″ x 18″ x 10″). Carry on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not exceeding 12″x11″x6″ (30x28x14 cm) to fit under your coach seat or in the small overhead compartment. So your driver and the hotel porters can safely lift and transport your suitcase throughout your holiday, we strongly recommend that you test the weight of your baggage prior to travel. You should be able to lift and comfortably transport it for short distances. Baggage allowances vary from airline to airline and you should check with your chosen carrier for details prior to travel.

    • K

      TravelerWritten September 2022

What is the procedure if the trip has to shortened because a traveler is sick and unable to complete the trip?

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten September 2022

All guests traveling with Trafalgar through December 31, 2022 are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, which may include a booster shot to keep the vaccination status current and valid, depending on the travel destination. Children not eligible for vaccination and/or booster at the time of travel must provide a verifiable and negative Covid-19 test result, taken within 72 hours prior to the start of the tour (taking time zones into consideration) for all tours departing until December 31, 2022.

For guests traveling with Trafalgar from 1 January 2023, Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters are highly recommended, but no longer required. Please note that regardless of time of travel guests will need to comply with specific vaccine and/or booster requirements imposed by airlines and/or authorities in the destination visited, as well as requirements for accessing restaurants and venues, which may be more restrictive than above. It is guests' responsibility to ensure that they comply at all times with these requirements. No refunds will be given if guests are unable to undertake some or all of their vacation due to their failure to comply with these requirements.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten September 2022

If you test positive while traveling with us, you will not be able to continue to travel with the group but will need to isolate in that country for the required number of days as stipulated by the local government and/or until such time that you obtain a negative Covid test result. Your Travel Director or Well-Being Director* and our support team behind the scenes will assist you with making the necessary arrangements for your accommodations, keep in touch with you and support you until you are able to return home or rejoin the group, once cleared as fit-to-travel by a health care professional. We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance to cover situations such as these. Please be sure you are covered for the complete dates of your tour and validate that you have the appropriate level of coverage for: - Trip Interruption - to cover the cost of your trip, including air Trip Delay - Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation; and Medical Expenses from illness (covering individual or pandemic event)

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten September 2022

If someone gets sick while travelling, we are not expecting the tour to be cancelled, however it will depend on the specific situation as we will need to follow the advice of local government and health authorities. Your Travel Director or Wellbeing Director* will be on hand to facilitate any required distancing or testing and ultimately, we will take care of you and be with you every step of the way until you are on your flight home.

If I had to visit barcelona and then travel by train to madrid to start the tour, would 2 days in barcelona friday, sat dec 16,17 be enough and then take a train to madrid sunday the 18 th morning work? The reception is on dec 18th sunday, evening right? would that be a good plan. I would be travelling from the US.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten October 2022

My best recommendation would be to research what you want to do for your independent stay in Barcelona to determine how many days you might need. As for traveling from Barcelona to Madrid, I would recommend researching to verify how long the train ride would be and if there were trains that would get you in no later than about 2pm/2:30pm. That way you have more than enough time to get to the start hotel in Madrid and make the welcome reception in the evening. That way if you run into any unpredictable set backs you wont be stressed out to get to the trip on time.

If hotel and restaurant gratuities are included in the package price, should we anticipate that we will only need to pay tips (outside of package cost) to the driver and tour guide? What are standard/acceptable tips for each at the end of the tour?

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten May 2022

All optional experiences are booked and paid for while on the trip.

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten May 2022

Any meal that is included would have the tips included as well. The porterage at the hotels is also included in the cost of the trip. You would have the option to prepay the gratuities for the driver and the Travel Director. Local Specialists - It is customary to show appreciation for the insights, stories and know-how shared with you by the Local Specialists and we suggest a gratuity of €1-2 (Euro) or £1 (GBP) in the UK per person per half day. Your Trafalgar Driver - Gratuities for your driver are not included in the trip cost and the suggested gratuity of €3 (Euro) £2.50 (GBP) in the UK per day per person is recommended in appreciation of a job well done. Your Travel Director - At the end of your trip you may wish to express appreciation to your Travel Director for their excellent service and the personal attention you received. Gratuities are given at the discretion of each guest but it is customary to give an amount of €5 (Euro) £4 (GBP) in the UK per person per day.

Yes there will be a tour leader, your Travel Director will manage all of the logistical details and planning of your vacation to ensure that everything runs seamlessly throughout your trip, but they will also be your friend as you travel. If I go on this trip and if unfortunately half way through I am infected with COVID, how will the trip be handled? I am likely to be quarantined until I recover? What will happen to the rest of the trip?

    • TrafalgarOperatorWritten May 2022

If you test positive while travelling with us, your Travel Director and Wellbeing Director* will follow a specially designed protocol as follows:

      - First, they will notify the local health department of the country you are in (together with our Operations and Guest Support teams) to initiate contact tracing for the locations your tour has visited prior.

      - They will then work to establish who in your tour group may have been exposed (close contact), check them for symptoms and initiate further testing.

      - Guests who are identified as being (potentially) positive will be separated from the group and referred for additional medical services. The local health department may require quarantine.

      - Those who are cleared as fit-to-travel by a health care professional may rejoin the group.

      - Fully vaccinated people (without symptoms) and those who have recently recovered (without new symptoms) do not need to be tested (as per current CDC guidelines).

      - The CDC also recommends that anyone with any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 get tested, regardless of vaccination status or prior infection.

We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance to cover situations such as these. Please be sure you are covered for the complete dates of your tour and validate that you have the appropriate level of coverage for Trip Interruption; (to cover the cost of your trip, including air); Trip Delay; Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation; and Medical Expenses from illness (covering individual or pandemic event; etc.)

If I contracted and recovered from covid during the trip, would I still be able to continue with the rest of the trip? If yes, I would join another group immediately? If no, is the tour deemed to have terminated? If so, would there be any refund for the unconsumed portion?

In this specific situation, there would not be an option to re-join the group or join a new group. Refunds/discounts are not provided to guests who contract COVID-19 while traveling with us. This is why we highly recommend travel insurance with COVID protection, as you would be able to claim the lost portion of your tour as well as any additional fees incurred in that situation plus countless others.
