Mediterranean Tour Companies

My husband and I loved our Portugal- Spain tour. There was plenty of free time and all of the group adventures were wonderful. Our CEO Beatriz Oubel went above and beyond to help every person on the tour. She was knowledgeable, helpful and never showed any signs of stress for the entire 21 days. She made the entire vacation better. We will definitely search out tour with her as CEO. Susan Mendes

Aside from staying in some very sketchy hostels, this trip was terribly planned. It was also changed without informing us. We often took a public bus causing us to take more than 3x as long as compared to a private vehicle, which when you’re already paying this much money what’s an extra 50$ per person??? For a travel company you think they would plan this route better. It is not advertised as “budget friendly” nor did it seem like it. Every optional activity is not really optional unless you want to be left at the hostel. You are expected to pay everything in cash which you are told of once you have your first meeting. If you need to take out cash you have to use their ATMs, I would have preferred to at MINIMUM be made aware of this ahead of time Overall if i had to say one thing it’s that me, someone with no travel experience could have planned this trip better than this. Why are we taking a 6hr public bus to only stay in a place one night? What’s the point in that? Don’t do this one.

The tour was good. For the price that we paid the rooms were good but not the best. Logistics were a problem at one hotel and we did lose a bunch of time because of. Last day of tour was not the best. Market and Palermo tour were a waste in my opinion. Should have done Cefalu for the whole day. Tour director and driver were excellent. Locations visited were good but some more time at each place would have been nice as per the longer stops/visits. Overall I would consider a booking again through Tour Radar and Cistsaver

Our Douro river cruise on A Rosa , was extremely pleasant and positive. All staff, food and sailing were enjoyable & dealt with English speakers well.

This trip to Sicily with Insight was well organised and having just got back home I'm amazed at just how much we did. There were people on the bust up to early 80s and the tour director reached out to them and made adjustment for everyone in time and extra information. It really was a passionate trip and the tour director Fabio and the bus driver knew and loved Sicily. Great local guides. Everything was a joy. Insight really go out of their way to offer a person a memorable and excellent experience.

I don't think we could have had a better tour manager. I don't think the tour would have been as amazing if we didn't have Lorenzo as our guide. His knowledge of the history of the areas we visited was vast and his personality always kept us engaged. His restaurant and shopping recommendationswere always excellent. Furthermore, Roberto's driving was beyond excellent. We always felt safe as long as he was driving. He worked very hard to ensure we had a clean bus inside and out. I hope we will be fortunate to have them in future tours.

I was very upset the river cruise was not the same as the itinerary. We did not get to walk and did not get to see the volcanoes and sunset. The cruise was a disappointment.

So much fun. I would recommend this trip to anyone. Beautiful views. Friendly staff on board. Fun times. Great people. Rooms were nice and activities were plenty

It was a great trip with beautiful views , good excursions and excellent meals . The locks in the river were especially impressive. And of course with highly motivated employees on board. We really enjoyed our holiday

The locations visited were fantastic. Our tour leader, Nina, was very helpful and made us feel like we had a local friend who is passionate about the countries we visited. I really enjoyed my vacation.

I do very good trip from Dubrovnik to Bled with Intrepid. This was my first time with Intrepid Travel . Starting with the biggest positive were the two lady tour leaders they were both excellent very good attitude very helpful. A big suggestion of mine for interprid is to reevaluate their hotel, locations and quality. The tour pricing should allow centrally located hotels/ apartments that are three star. Most of our state were far from the center of the city and it best two star. Also, it would be recommended to have a good local guide to have a comprehensive door of the major cities. Overall, I was satisfied with the tour with excellent rating for the tour leaders

I was surprised by how large the tour group was (60 +). There was a family of 20 that should have had their own tour. In fact, they were told they were going to have their own tour & was surprised to have been with this already large tour group. The problem was that the family of 20 was always late coming back from tour stops which made us late to the next stops. At One stop , they were an hour late getting back to the bus. The tour guide scolded them & told them they can’t do that but they didn’t really care. We were supposed to have time for lunch in Gruyère & we ended up having only a 1/2 hour. We were supposed to go to the Lumiere which was a highlight & we were told it was too late & crowded & we couldn’t get tickets- that was a huge disappointment. The tour guide Philippe, & the bus driver were great. They tried their best to keep us on time but it’s difficult with that large of a group. I wish we had more time in Gruyère & Lucerne (we got to Lucerne late as well). It was a lot of time on the bus & not enough time at the stops. We never saw Girona, Leysin,or Chambery (got there in the dark) & left the next morning. We had planned our meals around the stops but that didn’t work out due to not enough time at the stops (i.e Gruyère) or getting in too late & not much being open (i.e Girona & Chambery). you need to take a better look at your stops & timing. Maybe have less stops & more time at places that matter, like Gruyère & Lucerne. We didn’t need to be in Geneva for 1 1/2 hours, there isn’t much to see or do. The hotels were nice but out of the way especially Barcelona. The city tour of Barcelona, Callier chocolate factory tour, the castle, & glacier 3000 were highlights.

Our first experience with an open tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our guides. They were most knowledgeable and communicated very well. This tour is packed with destinations, history, and scenery. Definitely an incredible taster for future travel. Absolutely stunning scenery of areas less traveled.

This was not a tour I can recommend if you like flexibility. Being forced to sit at the same table each meal without having to choose one's fellow diners in the first place was not pleasant. Staff were rude and unhelpful, happy to stand and watch without ever offering assistance. Itinerary was good and saved the tour from scoring even less.

I would rate 4 out 5 my overall experience, had a great time overall.

We booked a Best of Greece tour with Eskapas. From the moment we arrived in Athens everything went very smoothly. All the tour guides, and drivers were excellent. Our rooms were nice and the meals were good. Everything ran like clockwork and we were extremely happy with the whole experience. We would highly recommend Eskapas to anyone. We would also like to give a shout out to Alex who was very helpful in planning our trip and answering all our questions.

My wife and I just returned from the best of Portugal in 11 Days tour. We had an amazing time. The staff that we dealt with at Portugal Travel Center was extremely responsive and flexible. We made a few modifications to the first day of our trip and also to the last day, and we were able to work those out without any problems. All of the hotels we stayed in were excellent and were located in the heart of the cities. Our tour guides and drivers were also very good. They were very knowledgeable, personable, and spoke great English. We had a few glitches along the way, but Portugal Tavel Center quickly addressed those issues to our satisfaction. Overall, we were very happy with the process and the product, and would not hesitate to use Portugal Travel Center in the future.

Our guides Phillip and John (Juan) were both fantastic.

Although it was a very full itinerary we enjoyed every stop. The guides were very informative and the boutique hotels we had chosen coukd nt have been better situated in the center of old Town. It is important to check the itinerary details everyday as there had been a mistake in one of our dates. However thatcwas immediately fixed byvtgecexce

We found the organisation was very professional. The tour guides were always on time, friendly and extremely informative. They never missed a beat. We got to meet lots of people from all over the world who we will keep in contact with. I totally recommend the company.

The tour and schedule was fine . The hotels were far below 3-4 stars . I rebooked my own hotels in Venice , Florence and Rome . Amalfi coast was ok but far below Michael angelo hotel. We were far out and no pool , bar or restaurant . I sent 8 request on pickup time on Saturday and received no answer and Sunday cot a call at 7 am yelling at me because I was not at hotel . I booked tours with other companies and all was great , your tour to almafi was good but poor communication. As I mentioned no one knew or cared to tell me how dinner worked , after tour I was not even dropped off at my hotel like others. I also had to Buy new train tickets as I prefer a better ride in bios ones class .sport to be the bearer of this news but I’m sure I’ll get no response as that’s been the pattern after my final payment was made. I’m not cheap , I would of love options when booking yo upgrade hotels at my cost , same with trains . In Venice I tagged at Griffey palace , in Florence I stayed at AW Mariott , Rome Waldorf Astoria . Do my suggestion would be options for those booking . Thanks Ed Forler

It was a cursory visit throughout the Riviera that was well-organized.

First scenic cruise was perfect. This second cruise was the complete opposite. Never again. Never.

While enjoying another tour in Venice, one of your tour guides thought it was appropriate to berate our tour guide in front of everyone completely embarrassing him with an attempt to ruin our experience. This is appealing behaviour of your staff in thinking your clientele is more important than the rest of us trying to enjoy Venice as well. Our tour guide was doing nothing wrong and yours was completely out of line. Absolutely disgusting and example set on how your staff must be trained to deal with tourist crowds.
